Unfinished: Press X to Not Die 10/14/2015

Should say that I have played all the episodes released so far and have mostly enjoyed my time with it, despite of the dialogue, but for some reason I just don't have any interest in watching a playthrough of the game.

Apparently it takes 5 years for pop culture references to reach Canada.

The reference humor was pretty unbearable, but when it was just silliness for silly's sake, it worked for me.

Had to bounce after the Twilight joke. Few things make me as uncomfortable as people trying too hard to be funny.

This is probably the first bit if GBEAST content I have to skip because the game itself is too painful.

Looks better than I had anticipated. Not really into the parody side of newer FMV games, but as those go, this seems pretty fun. I'll probably pick it up on sale.

My thoughts exactly. A lot of surprisingly entertaining stupid to be found, but it's offset pretty harshly by the referential ''this is a thing that exists and is funny because you most likely recognise the thing we are referencing'' that is constantly threatening to tear it all down.

Comments are so divided! Turns out comedy really is subjective.

That "gamer" stuff was super embarrassing until they sort of redeemed it all by not making the Angry Birds bit into an attack on casual games, which was what I was anticipating.

There are some cute moments here, but it's far too "college project" for me to really get into.

Seeing all this FMV in the morning got me to go preorder Need for Speed today. I'm not even kidding.

I'm sorry to break it to you this way but it's widely known that, besides The 6th Sense and Unbreakable, every M. Night Shyamalan movie is shitty.

I really don't get people that are upset about this game.

Sure it's not Contradiction or Tex Murphy, but it's not trying to be, it's just a little dumb and fun indie game. The pricing seems perfectly reasonable for this too.

I thought Unbreakable was an awful movie that played out like some hyperactive screenwriter just threw a wastepaper-basket full of crumpled up, half-finished ideas and told his producers "Just make a movie with this". Also, Signs had some cool creepy moments (although the movie kind of self-destructed halfway through, like many of Shyamalan's films [read: everything except Sixth Sense]).

Also, this game looks like it's channeling the spirit of Fox Hunt.

Which is terrifying.

You're right, Unbreakable is in no way a good movie! I should have expressed myself better, Unbreakable is a bad movie, just not as shitty as the rest of M. Night's portfolio.

Listen, I have a healthy appreciation for FMV in video games but unfortunately I think this is straight up bad.

The music used in the first scene is the same as Matthew Mercer uses on Critical Role for his D&D game. Good times.

This isn't anything new. They used to make full FMV video games like this back in the 90s. The most famous of them all was Dragon's Lair which was full animation.
