Mary Kish is such a pro gamer. First complete playthroughs of 16-bit games, and now this. (yep, I'll give her that Lion King win since it was cut off early!)

Recipe book

I used to play Downwell like Mary, then I got annoyed with how long it takes and switched to the arm swinging style or whatever it's called. Shops are rare and you get upgrades from the time bubbles, no gems. That way you can take your time and maybe even purposely break your combo so you don't take damage. I ended up with 7 or 8 hearts when I beat the boss.

As an added bonus you'll get a lot of extra charges/power/whatever it's called, too. So by the time you get to the boss, the laser kicks total ass and doesn't ruin you.

If you get the knife and fork with that style, especially early on, you're fucking set. Cause then you can just focus on eating corpses as opposed to comboing, which will make you miss the corpses.

Yay! Mary is cool. Also, nice new color LED's? And I love the gray wall color.

Man, the Brad segment was painful to watch live. Probably would've worked out way better if they had installed ZDoom before the show started. Oh well.

Oh, and Mary's Downwell run has really got me itching to beat that thing now that I know it can be done.

Romero's level really feels like Jeff's Mario Maker stuff. Lots to explore and to learn, but not shitty difficult like a Dan level.

ASHAMED at how quickly I realized that Mary was on the couch at the start of this video. She literally gasped and I knew it was her somehow. I am ASHAMED about that.

Mary talked about how she used to watch Doom as little and Jeff asked if that game warped her mind.

When I was 9 or 10, my dad would bring home a computer from work on the summer vacations and one of the first games we tried to play there was Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards. We were both struggling with English, so just getting past the age gate questions about American Baseball teams and stuff like that, was a challenge.

I distinctly remember that the joke about buying "lubbers" was lost on me, because I thought Larry was buying literal rubber. I did think it was funny seeing all those heads pop out behind the shelves, though.

Mary and now @drewbert know, Vivid is the ACTUAL best Downwell palette. It makes the whites whiter, the reds redder, and doesn't fucking distract you like the other palettes do.

As someone who has only gotten to the underwater level, hearing that @jeff casually and "accidentally" beat Downwell infuriates me to no end. I might need to try out some of Mary's pro strats, which while I would not have gone that way, they clearly are the strats of a champion.

Huh, I kind of got the impression that @jeff didn't like Doom II after seeing Breaking Brad: Doom II. It certainly has its moments of shit.

Mary's Undertale story was interesting - I actually felt like the game was perhaps a little too heavy-handed from the outset about emphasising the "alternative" methods of fighting, whereas having that reveal partway through would have been more interesting. Nice to hear a different take.
