I was doing very unprofessional things during the original broadcast of this video, so it's convenient that it was published the moment I sat down to my computer!

Dan Ryckert is the best human being, all you have to do is be better than him. Its great how he plays a lot of fighting games and knows how to play them but still just mashes all the time. Just listen to those sounds as hes mashing on that fight stick...

Also, Crypt of the necrodancer is super fun, its a great mix between a rhythm game and a roguelike. Zone 4 is really hard...

no bit, I kind of feel like the fact that mash his way through Street Fighter and come out ahead of people who understand and practice the game is an indictment of Street Fighter and maybe the Fighting Game genre as a whole.

Jason, with the constant aggressive swearing. Calm down, my man.

Spectre was fine. It hits enough classic Bond beats for me to not dislike it. Casino Royale is indeed the best, though.

I'm with Rorie on the dark showers. They're mesmerizing.

Brad, the Dark Brotherhood line is literally the only good thing about Oblivion.

Also, I dont think i've seen the entire cast of the program be more drunk. weird.

This only works because Jason is not great at fighting games.

Rory could say "2 plus 2 equals 4" and I would immediately question the near decades of maths education that I have had in my life. I am not saying Rory is always wrong, just that.. him saying something increases the likelihood that whatever is said is either complete bullshit or almost but not quite true.

Man, I'm sick of SFV. I know I'm not the intended audience (not a fan of Fighting games), but shake it up a bit guys, I feel like it's been on UPF every other week lately.

I really wish Max Scoville would be on UPF...

@brad That voice actor in Hitman you recognised is Crispin Freeman who plays just general soldiers in Metal Gear. He's also in a tonne of anime, like Ghost in the Shell.

I put it to you that fighting games are boring to watch. "Behold, as two characters approach each other from opposite directions in front of a certain background!" If you have seen one fighting game, you have seen them all, from a very basic visual standpoint. Like you, I can take some, but I find Jeff and Jason's infatuation with fighting games, along with the Ranking of Fighters series quite unexciting. ...really, I want the site to continue on its course and for Jason and Jeff (especially) to do whatever they want, but I agree with you that fighting games are not in my interest, and there's something one-dimensional about it all. Whatever, though, keep on dudin', everyone.

The PC version of Blood Money is a bit broken, so every time i finished this theater mission the game crashed and i'd lose my progress. Had to do this mission over and over until i got it fixed. By that time i was able to complete this mission with the best possible rank in like 10 mins.

normally when people get frustrated about video games i can't really sympathise but i think i would probably literally rather die than play a fighting game vs dan

Lol, Dan stares at a security guard, walk 5 feet away and kills a man. Then is surprised that the guard witnessed the murder. Great stuff!

Playing Crypt of the Necrodancer by the individual zones is actually a lot harder than doing the full thing each time. Yeah it takes a while but going into zone 3 with actual good items collected over all the earlier stages makes it so much easier.

@ketonic: Exactly, I'd be more-alright with watching something like Mortal Kombat because of the over-the-top spectacle, but "standard" fighting games like Street Fighter have always been nothing but boring to me. It just seems like a genre that hasn't evolved at all since the 90s, and it doesn't help that I've never enjoyed playing them ("Up" to jump? Stiff character movement? No thanks).

I agree that they should do what they want, but maybe only do it...once? I kind of felt the same with Destiny, even though I'm fine with the game itself; the site was filled with Destiny content as it was, and honestly the last thing I wanted at the time was to watch Brad play more on a UPF. Again, they should play what they want on here, but SFV is out in less than a month isn't it? Why not just wait until the full game comes out for the quick look?

I completely agree, watching his reaction when he won was incredibly painful.

Can someone explain how it's considered bad form to play a fighting game and win? I get that he was button-mashing a lot, but if it wins it wins. Same with spamming the same move again and again. If a strategy-less playstyle is still the dominant method then people shouldn't get mad that it works.

Absolutely loving the Doom reference for the video deck. Doom showing up in UPF for weeks on end is just a running gag at this point.

It would be super interesting to see Dan vs. someone who's an elite sf5 player. I'm guessing light speed button mashing would be easily dismantled but I'd still like to see it.
