@fetchfox: Don't forget Denmark, besides Yogislavia and Soviet Union, the country with the most gold medals, and we still exist.

@bacongames: yeah, same her in Norway, the women team is one of the best in the world and gets a lot of attention when ever they play. probably the third or forth most popular sport here. So it was surprising that the guys never even knew it existed.

I haven't laughed this much at a UPF in ages, you guys should make this one free, to show non-subscribers what they are missing.

Really funny UPF this week. Handball is awesome once you get into it. It's also surprisingly brutal, calling it "basketball with soccer rules" is selling it way to short.

I see what you did there.

I actually played handball for 6 years. It's incredibly fast-paced and tactical. Also fucking brutal. Fouls are expected and pretty much the default way to stop the offense. It's kinda funny to hear the guys talk about it like it's some kind of gentleman's sport, where everyone is super polite and super careful to not hurt each other, because the only impression they have of the sport is that garbage pile of a videogame. I lost a small bit of my tongue playing handball.

Missed opportunity on the Gang Beast gondola level, you can snap the cables holding it up. Just hold with one hand and punch with the other, let gravity decide the victor.

That's so weird, I was thinking when I loaded the video up about what was going on with Gang Beasts since the last time they played it.

As folks that don't watch the Olympics, the handball thing made sense. I don't know much about it, but it was one of the darlings o the last few anyways.

I don't want to play Goat Simulator, but I want to watch Vinny play Goat Simulator some more.

No Rorie, there's no way Act V of Diablo 3 is "one hour" unless you're some kind of speed-runner. It's the second time you've said this and paints a fairly inaccurate picture of the value-proposition here

This was one of the best UPFs in recent memory.

We played Handball in high school gym class and I have a vivid memory of two guys running in opposite directions slamming into each other headfirst and both getting knocked the fuck out.

Handball is now not played at my old high school anymore.

Why are all the German games so bad? I'm German and I'm ashamed. Too bad he didnt find the right exit to the fields tho.

To be fair, until fairly relatively recently, American Football wasn't really a thing here either. I suppose movies like Any Given Sunday have helped getting it into the collective consciousness in this part of the world. I guess Handball needs its own, we just need to figure out how to create drama around it. Though honestly, I barely care even when my country is doing well. Though that isn't exclusive to Handball.

Never thought watching people press buttons as fast as possible could be so entertaining

I guess that Gang Beasts level is less Royal Rumble and more catch as catch can, since you can be eliminated by going under the rope.

I find that horse-based humor is my favorite brand of comedy.

The videogame is crappy, but the sport is actually... OK. Not quite as popular as basketball around these parts, but it gets some TV coverage and I'll watch it if it's on. Trick shots are fun :)

As a Dane I never expected to see handball featured on my favorite site and with such high level of play.

I got super into handball during the 2012 London Athletic Exhibitions (it's basically basketball and soccer's hype love child), and considered grabbing the game when I saw it on Steam for like $6 a couple of weeks ago, but unless I can play as the Norwegian women's national team I can't justify the purchase.

I didn't get any of Vinny's sarcasm about Brad, and now I don't want to.

Christ, I know the dudes making that Handball game didn't have much of a budget but if you're going to bother with commentary at least get some guys who speak decent English. I'm German and my English is better than that. Not that the rest of the game looked any better.

Also Handball is a pretty cool sport. I watch a bit of it every now and then.

In handball we learned how to hurt your opponent without the referee noticing and without leaving any marks. It's a gentleman's game.

I swear I'm more excited about the finished version of Gang Beasts over everything.
