    I am impressed with this game. Not because of the game though... 
    It is very fun and addicting...  But this is what really impresses me! 

     Civ 5 is above the new COD, tf2, l4d2, bfbc2, and f:nv

     Look at the games immediately below... holy shit. I never would of expected to see more current players playing CIV 5 on steam then all those FPS games (and f:nv I guess). 
    I guess I am a sucker for steam statistics but I often check them and it is rare to see a different genre have so many players up there.

    Well the thing is so many people have died in front of their computers playing CIV 5 that it skews the stats. Basically since they are rotting carcasses now they can't turn off the game which results in them being counted as playing all the time.  
    This is scientifically proven fact!

    I 'm happy to see something other than a shooter being enjoyed by a lot of people. I love me some FPS, but it's far from my favorite genre, and it's always good when other types of games get some love.

    @Enigma777: I only used to play it for the community and the leagues. 
    Now there are really no good competitive leagues... and achievements and updates to it by valve were a bad idea imo. They fucked up my config that I have been using for over 3 years.  
    No FPS really has filled in the gap imo for competitive play that CS:S reached in the USA.  
     
    But it is still fun to join a server and roll people from time to time.  
     
    But anyways, point is Civ5 is doing good. I bet if SC2 was on steam it would be at the top.
