Sony had the best confernce by far. I don't own a PS3 or PSP but man they did put on a great show. Awesome demos some numbers but not heavy, and a slew of games. Like the Nintendo Conference it wasn't gawdy like The Microsoft conference.
Overall good show. There are some stuff there that I was like okay...I need to get a ps3. Just don't have the cash to support that many systems :(
A+ for sony!

E3 2009 - Sony Press Conference Discussion
"@metalicat said:Kudo's herky-jerky bottom of the shoe *BAM* section showed me all I needed to know. Natal is still very much an idea. "" @SpiritOf: escept for the fact that they to showed a tech demo, so it's a bit more than just an idea "
You guys are watching this on G4 TV right? They were just showing a whole lot more God Of War III, more than what was shown on stage.
Just wanted to let everyone know
that's because there is no argument you said it yourself showing games in the last 15-30 minutes and all that other bull hockey you spit.
Sony did not have an OMG mind explosion in a paint factory showing at the conference. It was Okay and could have been much better. I am all about gaming and they didn't do much to get my gaming groove sparked. MAG is interesting but they didn't show anything I didn't already know.
Well, in my mind, Sony had the best of the 3 major conferences. They impressed me with Uncharted & Assassin's Creed 2 on stage demos, and I was ready to give them the prize at that point, but then they added the mini-kart racer demo, the news of Final Fantasy XVI Online and closed with the awesome God of War 3 demo. The conference was just so jam packed with good stuff that I am really looking forward to the next year as a PS3 owner. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way abandoning my 360, especially with Mass Effect 2 on the way, but the breath of games coming to the PS3 is exciting.
I personally wasn't impressed by the MAG demo and news of GT5 thrills me about as much as Forza 3 and Need for Speed Shift. Which is zero. I'm not a sim racer fan, I like'm arcadey and over the top (thank you Criterion). The PS3 wand and PSP GO were interesting, but I'm not sure they are for me. On the other hand, PSP will have Persona, so I am borderline on that product.
Overall, Sony did a steller job at keeping me interested through most of the show and truly excited during some parts.
I've always been on the fence about buying a PSP but now with MGS and RE coming out its pushed me into getting one.
I really didn't like it, even as a PS3 owner.
- Mag's HUD was ridiculously chunky and busy to the point of being laughable.
- God Of War games have never interested me so that didn't really wow me. Looked pretty much like a newer Heavenly Sword to me.
- PSP Go still looks bad imo. Although I'm glad the FW updates will not cater to the Go/Traditional separately.
- FFXIV provided a momentary 'Wow... Oh. Online.' Biggest anticlimax ever.
- A 'true' MGS game on PSP? No thank you.
There were parts I did like though:
- Mod Nation Racers looks rad.
- The motion control stuff looked like an interesting mix of the 360 and wii tech and it seemed to work very well, although I prefered the potential of Natal imho, especially after the recent hands on impressions of it with Burnout Paradise working well.
Still, it was hard not to be a better conference than Nintendo's.
" I had to leave right when the PSP version of Gran Turismo was being shown . . . did I pretty much miss the good parts after that? I was able to catch Uncharted2 and MAG ... "
" @LasheBut Heavenly Sword was itself a new God of War! However I totally see your point on MAG's interface, here's hoping they chop it down a bit before release. I enjoyed it overall, the new GT's look awesome, as does the new team ico project."
I think this pretty much covers what is going-on with Sony @ E3 2009. Also, don't forget that Konami's Press Conference is tomorrow... where we'll learn about Metal Gear Solid: Rising and maybe also about the rumored Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.
Let me know if I missed anything!

I thought it was ok...
best e3 press conf this year. everything looked amazing, from the games shown to the awesome motion senseing technology. i think Sony pwns this year's E3
Gran Turismo trailer was better than Forza's trailer. I think GT will be the better racer for me personally.
Here's the GT5 trailer:
Really impressed. It started out bad with numbers and such, but from then on it was quite good once Uncharted 2 was shown. I liked the motion controller more than I thought I would. Montages went on a bit long, and I wish they showed the names of the games since some looked interesting. All the live game demos looked solid and The Last Guardian trailer has me excited. The PSP lineup was better than I expected, but I'll stick with current hardware. As far as new games, FFXIV totally came out of nowhere (megaton?), and I want more information on Agent.
Man, a motion controller that genuinely looked amazing. Thats a hard feat to pull. I gotta admit as both a gamer and a Sony fan, Sony delivered on EVERY level.
"@Dethfish77 said:Looks like a dog/bird/rat thing... It's kinda cute... "" Why is that Dog giant and have feathers? "
I think it's a Eagriffin, half eagle, half Griffin.
Your taste in creatures is bizarre.
" Sony is no where near nuking the competition, how does one even come up with such foolish thoughts. "
So I am a fool for simply knowing Sony's conference was notably better in every rerspect ^ ^
lol at you and your fellow foolish fanboys. The posts from them on this page are comical BS,
@metalicat
Coming from someone with a Master Chief avatar, your comments don't surprise me.
I watched Microsoft's press conference seven times because I enjoyed it so much. But Sony I felt had a much better lineup. Loved MS for their Natal, but the 1:1 tracking of the Motion control was insane, especially with the precision and accuracy. MGS Peacewalker looked outstanding for a PSP title. God of war looked great and the announcement of Final Fantasy 14 was great. The audience reactions were more abundant than other press conferences. Sony was just plain good.
Either way, I am going to be a poor person next spring. One of the problems of owning all systems.
"This sticky is created solely to discuss the Sony press conference. So please keep discussion about the other two conferences contained to their respective stickied topics." I'ma assume the motion controller stick is part of this since it's only classified... eh whatever, part of this anyways.. It's my assumption. I'd just want to comment on hoping that this baby gets a Star Wars lightsaber game for it.
" Final Fantasy XIV. Totally never saw this coming. "
for me im just happy for sony to show killer games on the way and theirs so much more they havent shown yet such as heavy rain
Sony had the best keynote, they only demoed exclusive things on the Ps3, the Assassin's Creed 2 demo was only a excuse to say "hey, our version has PSP-bound exclusive content". They showed new hardware, that's a major thing despite that stupid Qore leak, it is something new. They showed a LOT of exclusives if we include PSP and the motion control seems to be the mos responsible motion control to date. Microsoft was saved by the bell with the "exclusive announcement" of MGS Rising, yeah just the announcement, it is a multiplatform game.
