General Facts
The South Pole is the most southern point of
Earth. It is one of Earth's axis points and it is where
Antarctica is devided amoung the countries.
Discovered in December 14th of 1911, the south pole has captured interest of many countries. Often the continent is named after the South Pole, which is not accurate but accepted.
The location of the South Pole is marked by a sign, but due to the fact that the pole itself moves every year, the sign is rearranged every new year.
For photography purposes there's a South Pole Cerimonial Location which has the iconic Mettalic Sphere on a plinth and is just a few miles form the original location.
