The video game adaptions have varied in how close they've been to the source material's turn based, grid based gameplay. Two first person tactical shooter adaptions were published by Electronic Arts in the early 90's, Space Hulk (1993) and Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels (1995).
Teardown were working on a straight adaption, with permission from THQ who held the Warhammer 40,000 license at the time, but THQ changed their mind and made them remove all WH40K art from the game, which was then released under the name Alien Assault (2009).
In 2013 Full Control Studios released the grid based strategy game Space Hulk, and in 2014 the stand-alone expansion Space Hulk Ascension was released.
