Pretty pumped for this.

I'd rather take a Mass Effect clone with Picard, Janeway and the other characters I grew up watching. So much potential for a large sci-fi game going to waste... Then again, there's Mass Effect. :)

Though it does look kind of awesome, I'll have to give them that.

A few parts there looked like Dead Space. When I think what I want in a Star Trek  game I immediately think third person shooter.

this could be cool. i hope it doesn't end up being another generic 3rd person shooter.

Very nice post-fx treatments.  It's got the rhythm of a Mass Effect-style rpg/shooter; I hope it can further that story-telling style as well.

Never cared much for Star Trek (sorry fans), I'm sure some people will enjoy this game. Not me.

Not really what I want out of a Star Trek game, but hey, as long as it turns out alright sign me up. I'll take what I can get.

Trailer looks very Mass Effect'y, if they have some RPG and talking in there too I might be interesting. Looked definitively a lot more interesting then I would have expected from a modern Star Trek game.

It looks very action heavy, but like I said before, the ability to have Spock logic a way out of a scenario or Kirk bone his way into one could make this pretty awesome.

is this going to be linked in to a future movie ?

The best parts of Mass Effect are the setting and the conversations. Similarly, Star Trek's strengths have never been its action but its characters and ideas.

Reducing Star Trek to a third-personal shooter just seems contradictory and doomed to failure.

I was hoping it would be more like this.

There's been a couple of Star Trek FPS games that were quite good. Perhaps not the best match, but the co-op dynamic between Kirk and Spock should at least work well.. and the new movie was pretty much all action anyway.

So pre-order DLC will be Shatner/Nimoy skins right?

I'm on board. They're showing off the crazy action stuff to emphasize the production values, but have said the gameplay is varied in the way Trek fans would expect. Besides, it's Trek. I'll take whatever game I can get (except Online).

Nice though want to play as Scotty.

Really looks a bit like they are trying to go the Mass Effect way, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

To be honest a better game would be you playing a rogue-ish character within the star trek universe, those guys always seem to have a lot more fun than the good guys of starfleet. 
 
Mind you that wouldn't help them sell their next film very well.

Finally a Star Trek mod for Mass Effect... though four years too late.
