According to the EA conference call 
 
"They are ahead of expecations, largest number that we have done with EA, larger than Battlefield 3." 
 
They also said;
 
"In the summer we're ramping up our beta campaign and through September, then we'll be in a position to give our hard ship date." 
 
So that probably means we will get the release date in September/early October, and MMOs usually ship 1-2 months after they announce the release date. So we're close!

I need to stop hyping myself so much for this or I'm gonna ruin it.

I want to preorder this really bad, but with so many mmo's failing to wow it's hard. I do have high hopes for this one though. Maybe if I had a chance to play the beta that would seal the deal.

Cool I just pre-ordered my copy. Can't wait for the beta.

Its good they are selling loads of copies, i would like it for this game to succeed.

Good for them. I hope it does well. It's between this and Guild Wars 2 for me and I'm still pretty torn.

They just said Holiday 2011, so probably November or December.

Oh yeah, I remember now that I got the date from Amazon. This item will be released on December 31, 2011. I just figured that was the release day. Now that I think about it, it does sound like a weird date to release a game.

I preordered just so that I could get into the September beta thingy. 
I'm really interested to see whether it will just be more of the same MMO-gaming, or if it is different enough for me not to get bored after a month or two, which seems to happen with pretty much every other MMO...

Oh man, too bad the race selection is just not doing it for me, green, purple and blue human, just because it will look wierd to kiss space romance interrest as a Bith. A Bith Jedi how cool that will be.

That's a little surprising, but cool. The real test will be on the game's legs, however. That I am interested to see.

Apparently they've even beaten Modern Warfare 3 preorders.

I would be surprised if the they didn't. SWTOR will be HUGE! We should start predicting DAY 1/WEEK 1 sales.

Is this Bioware's magic at work or EA's marketting? 
I just wish they'd tell us the subscription costs, I don't like that they're keeping it under wraps so long, its bound to be higher then expected.

Aye, but with the pre order stuff being so costly...I can just see them try it, EA's crazy/greedy enough for it. I know that all 7 of my friends who look forward to playing it launchday will not get it if the subs are 15+.  15 is the max, end.
