As you may, or may not know, there will be a PS4 exclusive Street Fighter V beta going into effect tomorrow, lasting some 5 days. It is available to folks in the US who pre-ordered the game from a number of retailers, or to a few lucky Europeans who signed up for a key via the PSN website.

Codes have slowly started shipping out to the US community, but we poor Europeans have to wait until tomorrow to find out whether or not we even made the cut. And so I'd like to make a plea to this here fine community. Give me a beta key. Share some information about the damn game once the beta goes online. Talk some trash if that's what you wanna' do. Tell me Ken doesn't look incredible. Do SOMETHING to make me stop fidgeting on my seat in anticipation of this oh, so hot release.

Besides, I figure it'd be useful to have one dedicated post where we can pool and share our impressions.

I just got back from EVO and my kids are staying with their grandparents for a few weeks so it's gonna be SFV all-day every-day for me only not really because I have other real-life responsibilities but I'll be playing yooo.

No local versus in this beta, so unfortunately there's only so much we could do with it in a live setting.

Get two setups going and keep trying to get matched into the same games while beating on randoms! While Dan offers color commentary!

@brad: Speaking as someone who's borderline obsessed with Street Fighter (And DOTA, it's a busy life), I'd really appreciate even a short look of what's available. Way I see it, majority of the coverage of the event is like to be some highly technical stuff smack-filled with jargon rather than the relaxed, casual approach you guys take. And as useful as the the former can be, it's not how I want to begin playing a fighting game. I just want to beat up my friends, is that so wrong?

If only! Dying to play it, but I don't own a PS4. I plan on getting the PC version so will have to wait until fall. :(

I am however, looking forward to seeing what combos/tech people come up with over the beta period.

Sucks you have to pre-order to get in, I wouldn't mind giving it a shot but not enough to put money on it already.

How long will the beta last?

I can't even find a listing for SFV on the PSN store to give them my money. Bought on steam already, but that beta won't be until fall sometime.

I am in! I was going to make a thread as a meet and greet with PSN names but I think it's just random every time. I don't have a PS4 stick though and I don't think you will be able to use PS3 sticks on the beta (someone confirm), so I will be pad warrior-ing it up.

I thought everyone who pre orders gets in. Is that not the case? Im getting PC, havent pre ordered yet. Id get the PS4 version but I have a 360 TE fight stick that I obviously would want to use on my PC.

I think that's only true in the US. In the UK and several other areas, you had to sign up with Capcom and hope you got in.

This beta version of SFV does not support legacy controllers.

Is that actually the game itself? I though the PS4 did not support the PS3 fight sticks. Either way that cant apply to the PC can it? That shit just button maps far as I know.

It's notable because both MKX and USFIV for PS4 took advantage of the Skullgirls driver to allow PS3 sticks to work.

From what I recall, and I could be mistaken, was that the retail version of SFV on PS4 will use the driver to allow PS3 sticks to work, but that won't be implemented in the beta. It's probably one of the last things they'd do before it ships if I had to guess. Of course, PS3 sticks will work on PC, but I have no idea when the PC beta is even happening.

If I was a cynical person, I'd say PS3 sticks will never work for it since they've partnered with MadCatz for the game and they want to sell a bunch of new sticks...

Your misery is my enjoyment. I've decided to take some.. Drastic measures to get into the beta. (EBay, don't you hurt me. Don't you hurt me again.) And will likely be joining you guys tomorrow. I'm so far down the hype-hole that at this juncture, all that's going through my mind is how thankful I am that you'll have less of a chance to get ahead of me thanks to the server bail out. I don't want to feel this way, you guys.

If someone should happen upon the damn thing actually working, be cool if you could jot it down in this here thread for the rest of us anxious buggers to jump in and probably crash the servers all over again.

I managed to get in once and into the training room for about 5 minutes before it disconnected me, but that's it. Might try again in a few hours.

This is why i wouldn't pre-order something to get into a beta, it's a beta. Halo started calling multiplayer demo's beta's, but an actual beta is more like this where they are actually testing the game rather than balancing gameplay.

I've seen a few people get in but no luck for me. I guess Capcom is reassessing things before putting the servers back up.

Got in for a little bit and got to mess around with training mode. Love the feel of it, so much impact behind everything. The jumping feels a little weird to me but I'm sure that is something that I will get used to quickly. Kind of sad you can't change the training partners mode, so no CPU or Recording/Playback at the moment, as I only got to play Ryu and wanted to test out his V-Skill parry.

Still doesn't work at 8 am EST.

I'd be satisfied to just SEE the thing running on my console at this point. I know its a beta and all and testing these kinds of server loads are the entire point BUT still kind of a bummer when you wanna check the game out and can't at all...
