    Oh U Crazy Mario

Out of all the main stream mario games this one seems to be the red headed step child of the group. I must confess when it came out I was at the age were I did not play nintendo games much anymore. Young and foolish thinking "I'm older and this is very clearly for young kids and bla bla bla bla". When I look back at this statement with this game I laugh a bit because damn, this is a changeling game. I know some of you guys can probably beat this with one hand tied behind your back while tap dancing to the intro to happy days but I think its safe to say to a lot of people this game was a pretty heavy hitter. The story is pretty wacky and not really needed but its there and who the hell plays mario for the story. What really makes this game so different is F.L.U.D.D a little funny sounding back pack robot that can be used to suck up water and let mario hover for a short time , along with a few other use's such as attacking enemies and flinging you into the air like a rocket. This may seem like it would make sunshine a lot easier, well it does not. Like I stated earlier this is in my mind the hardest of the all the mainstream mario's. The level design is always challenging yet some times frustrating but with mario's trade marked tight controls I found for ever time I wanted to take the game and break it in two and never play it again I kept coming back with mindset "oh you game your not going to win that easy". The game is pretty long and even longer for people who must collect ever star, which if you have my hat is off to you sir. While this is by no means my  favorite mario I feel it is not given the love it as earned. So I hope some of you might one day give this game another go. Its guaranteed to kick your ass and have you coming back for more.
Highlights - All the levels with out F.L.U.D.D, That Mario charm that makes you smile
Downfalls - Frustrating Boss fights, Hair pulling difficulty. A unwanted story

After watching Giant Bomb East play through a part of this I had to revisit it to see if it holds up at all. Out of all the Mario games, this one has a bit more story to tell via CG cutscenes. Most of it is kinda weird with the gist of it being about an evil Mario that has painted Isle Delfino with a bunch of paint. Mario gets blamed for the vile act and he must now clean up the town. After getting introduced to the ruined island paradise it quickly becomes obvious that Nintendo wanted to make ...

      A vacation worth taking. 0

“You mean I have to clean up crap?” That was my first response when I read about Super Mario Sunshine for the first time. First, Link got all cartoony, Fox got out of his Arwing and now Mario got a goofy ass water pack and started acting like a sanitary worker. When Mario Sunshine was released in 2002, I played it for a little bit and quickly decided it was not worth playing, and moved on. However last year, when I decided to play through my backlog of games, I played Mario Sunshine again and fo...
