I got me some achievements
This is by all definition, a mediocre game. Its story is not at all memorable. Set before the events of Terminator Salvation, you take part in a rescue mission that has almost nothing to do with the movie. On the way to an extraction point, John Conner (or the person I assumed to be John Conner, as I was never really sure who it was) and his unremarkable soldier squad A gets a call from unremarkable soldier squad B saying they are stranded in indistinguishable Skynet camp C. Despite his commanders orders and because he's anticonformist like that, John Conner takes the obligatory girl squadmember and goes off to rescue them. That entire rescue attempt encompases the rest of the game and makes it feel like something you'd expect from a side-mission in Fallout 3.
The gameplay, while not actually being bad, is what you'd expect from people who saw Gears of War and said "lets do that". In fact, if you replaced machines with locusts and were very tired, you might mistake this game for being Gears of War. The graphics while not bad, are also completely average with all the brown and grey environments you would expect from a modern shooter. In fact, nothing about this game is out and out bad except for maybe the extremely short time it takes to complete it. However, depending on your perspective, that might be its best quality. Other than the checkpoints being signaled by the clasic "dundun-dun-dundun" sound byte, the one thing that stood out to me as something I will remember it for is its insanely easy achievements. By simply playing through the game on hard mode (which is not all that hard), you get the full thousand points and can move onto a game more deserving of your attention.
That is exactly what I did and if you feel the need to get some achievements fast, this is a great place to go for it. Otherwise, there's nothing to see here.
