Overview
The Strip The Mojave Wasteland is the second largest desert in North America and is largely controlled by the
NCR. In the middle of the Wasteland is New Vegas and the Strip, the remains of Las Vegas after the Great War. Unlike most major cities, Las Vegas did not suffer much damage from the Great War and remains mostly intact. Due to
Mr. House's elaborate security system, only 7 atomic bombs managed to hit the surrounding desert in the war, leaving the place much less radioactive than other parts of the United States. As a result, many green plants and trees surround the desert, and snow is still present in the area. Some pre-war species have also survived, including crows, fish, and coyotes. However, there are still several heavily radiated parts of the Mojave Wasteland, including Vault 34 and the Old Nuclear Test Site.
