A prequel to the Fables comic book series, The Wolf Among Us tells a tale of the reformed Big Bad Wolf of childhood folklore (who is the sheriff of a secluded community of fables in 20th century New York City) as he investigates a series of grisly murders.
Absofruitley. Being able to have all the episodes at once would be great too. As opposed to the Walking Dead series, I don't think the bi-monthly release schedule for Wolf Among Us worked in its favor.
I liked The Wolf Among Us quite a bit, though I imagine part of that was not having to wait months between episodes. It's got style and personality to compensate for when the pacing becomes lethargic.
Yes, just come to terms with the fact that the story won't change too much based on your actions (only how characters react to you) and it's a really cool game. I love the style and the story is pretty engaging to follow.
I really liked it a lot. I find that most of the people who weren't so hot on it were people who played it in episodes, instead of all at once like a normal game. You won't have that issue.
I never play these kind of games (Walking Dead, Tales From The Borderlands, Life is Strange, etc), but I played this one and enjoyed it. I had the whole season at once (like you will); it really helped keep things engaging and from getting too confusing.
It's alright. The story is pretty good, but be aware that the gameplay is really at a minimum (even less than Walking Dead) and your choices doesn't really matter. It's almost just a visual novel.
As others have said: as long as you're aware that it's mostly an interactive novel you're about to buy, it's great. My girlfriend watched almost the entire story with me, and it got me to buy the Fables books.
