The editing, direction, and mixing of the voiceover is grating. Why not just have him narrate it more intimately? He's not represented in the trailer. The copy is overwritten and edited for time, making it sound disjointed.

When did this game get so ugly? Last I saw it at the Eurogamer Expo it looked half-decent but this...

Trailer didn't thrill me but I'm still getting this game.

The voice over could of literally come from any modern fps. Super generic crap. But, I want to kill aliens from the Aliens franchise.

So I don't get the plot of this game. They say it's canonical to the Aliens franchise, right? Good. Then they say, it's some time after the original Aliens and that it focuses on the rescue party sent out to look for survivors of the original Marine crew sent down to investigate the colony... Right? But that colony blew the fuck up, along with all other Xenomorph's in the original Aliens... So, my question is this: How much of the originals storyline do they have to twist to make this canon? Because the way I see it, this can't possibly be canon, because there's nothing left of the space colony!

A more important question of course would be: Who gives a shit if this is canon or not. It looks mediocre at best no matter how you look at it. It's very much like Prometheous that way, except hopefully not that shitty.

The framerate is no surprise as the footage is obviously recorded off the PC version, also keep in mind that originally the game had been intended as an PS2 exclusive when it first got announced, at least if i remember correctly.

Sadly this doesn't look like anything special so far, maybe even like Gearbox is pulling another DNF.

As an massive Aliens nerd i really really really hope this thing only looks ugly and is actually full of awesome, but chances of this being true are less than slim :/

If I remember from an interview a long time ago. Their explanation is that the part that is blown up was only one part of Hadley's Hope. There are still bits and pieces still intact. Plus some of the gameplay shown here may be from the Sulaco.

I'm not interested at all in this game, but I hope it does well because I really really like Syd Mead, and I hope he ends up making money out of this.

Is this trailer some sort of meta parody of game trailers? Fucking terrible. Voice over was a joke. The gameplay that was shown looked shit. I can't believe they did cut cut cut to wub wub wub.

I was excited for this game, now I am deflated. I think Gearbox needs a new marketing department.

At points the voiceover kinda sounds like someone doing a Paul Levesque (HHH) impression...poorly

Dubstep really is an obligatory addition to any and all game trailers now, huh? Visually it's a bit bland, and there really doesn't appear to be much to the gameplay beyond shooting at everything that HOLYFUCKTHERE'SAPOWERLOADER!! SOLD!

Man, while I do like the characters in Aliens, just as the characters in Alien, they're really, really playing up the "I'm a bad-ass marine!" kind of thing; that's not really what I want. I also hope the voice acting is decent, this doesn't sound terrific. I'm going to get this game because it's canon, and I love the Alien franchise; I hope it's good.

I'm trying to be optimistic about it, and there are actually quite a lot of things that I do think highly of in this from what I saw, but this just doesn't look like anything exceptional, it looks like it's adhering to those that really just want bad-ass-like characters and will shoot anything because it's cool. I'm going to try to have a little more faith in this though. Jesus, it's like taking these things and making it what the mainstream want, not what fans want. Guhhh. Come on.

This is, or soon-to-be, was one of my most anticipated games of the year.

I was looking forward the this ...until I watched that trailer.

The more I see of this game the less I wanna play it. Too much emphasis on action. Aliens seem too easy to kill and melee. Not enough emphasis on surviving and building atmosphere. Seems like yet another FPS power fantasy.

I'm still in the same mindset as Ryan stated a while back on this, without the small team of marines you get to know & care about with hordes of marines & aliens dying that this just turns into a shooting gallery that seems rather uninspiring & generic feel of nothing good or bad about it, just forgettable.

Duke Nukem is a bad narrator. Otherwise it looks fine.

I don't know, that still seems stupid. I mean, we're talking about a god damn nuclear explosion not some random frag grenade going off. Plus the Alien Queen got vacuumed and the nest blew up, so why are there still Aliens? Then again, people didn't have a problem when nobody in the Star Wars universe had ever heard of The Apprentice, because he was SOOOOO stealthy. You know, like that one time when he took down a god damn space ship. Yeah, nobody saw that...

Enthusiasm for this game just reduced by about 50%. Was really hoping for a more survival horror type game than generic run n shoot. Oh well, hopefully it'll still be better than AvP.

Eh, just go play Natural Selection 2 to get your aliens fix. Cheaper and already out.
