Nice choice! Seems it worked out and got Dan into it. I really like BlackLagoon so to choose a thirty sec clip would be pretty tough but I think the scene where the "Maid" destroys the bar is probably my favorite scene. Her name and the weapons she used tell me that the person who directed that scene watch alot of El Mariachi... or at least Desparado.

This was great. Space Patrol Luluco was an excellent choice, whoever submitted that clip. Also probably the best bit of that show to sell people on it. I'm personally pretty partial to all the freaking out about "space cheating" but the handcuffs clip is just so immediately hilarious and a perfect example of that show's amazing comedic timing.

United States of Smash is good but I wish it had been a clip from earlier in the series that wasn't so spoilery

@drachmalius: The twitch stream chat didn't seem to be happy at all about that clip at all. I haven't seen the show so I didn't know the significance. But I will guess I will eventually.

Gundam Wing is the only thing that they showed that I'm familiar with. The person who recommended it chose a great clip to show because of how silly it is out of context which is, frankly, the entire point of this panel.

Yes... and the entire point was that it _wasn't_ about Dragon Ball. If it was about Dragon Ball, it'd just be another episode of All Systems Goku.

I am here from the Symphogear brigade to say watch Symphogear (and Hinamatsuri!)

Thought this was a really fun show but I was dissapointed by a few of the choices of clips for this panel. Before I get to the clips I thought sucked I just want to say anime like a lot of things is subjective to taste and if people liked something and got something out of these clips thats awesome.

The clips I thought were poor choices by Crunchyroll were these;

Kino's Journey - might be a good show but that clip does nothing for me serious 30 second clips are almost always a bad idea.

Gundam Wing - Probably the worst Gundam anime and this is the one scene out of 50 episodes that I even remember at this point. This show just sucks.

Gintama - Good show but the clip just feels like way too much going on and hard to follow. Was chosen just for the Rocky part because Dan might like it.

Sword Art Online: Alternative Gun Gale Online - again hard to follow does nothing for me

There are actually a lot of good clips that were NOT chosen if you check out the #gb_101 on twitter you can actually see these clips.

I get the choices they made gotta show a variety of different shows out there but there are better submissions that never even got chosen.

How on earth do people have enough time to watch all of these shows?

My favorite detail is that there are literally only 2 reviews of Space Adventure Cobra on Crunchyroll's site as of this moment. It was those 2 guys.

@ripelivejam: unfortunately for me I like video games, movies, sports, wrestling, and yes, anime. There is not enough time in the day to satisfy all of these addictions. Anime has, throughout the years, been the one to fall to the wayside. I'd love to jump back in but there are endless "must watch" series.

Yuru Camp is so good! Jeff should totally watch it.

They could have chosen some better clips, but hey at least the boys seemed to like em.

I don't know much about anime, but I feel like it was a bad idea to show all the clips in their original Japanese. It was also a bad idea to have a representative of Crunchyroll sitting directly next to them, guiding their reactions. This was not at all what I expected when I heard them promote this panel.

This was great though, I live for jeff and dan anime content now.

I loved this video so much, as someone who used to love anime but has been out of the game for a decade. Dan's genuine realization of what anime is bordered on inspirational, as he sees the magic therein. And Jeff was also just spot on, and it's cool that he said specifically Gundam Wing was what he wanted to pick up next, as that was the second Toonami show I got into, and therefore the logical next step on his journey (Latenight uncut was lit in 7th grade).

Keep this up. Them suddenly warming up to anime is like the plot twist of the century.

Finally watched this, it was good. Glad to see anime finally take over this damn site, it's been a long time coming. Like I'm watching a grand awakening to their true selves. I know this can't happen all the time, but I'd love to see more. Even if it is just "let's show these non-weebs all this weird stuff and see how they react."

Victoria Holden, aka @sailorbee online, she does community stuff (maybe more!) at Crunchyroll and she's great. She does weekly recap videos over there, which I don't always watch but they're fun.
