Unboxings are like crack to me. I have no idea why, but I'll watch people unbox shit I have no intention of ever buying. Shit I was watching an iPad Air 4 unboxing last night on my own iPad Air 4! I have a problem.

I can't wait to see how small the ps5 slim gets.

I have never been this unethusiastic about a console generation launch.

Grateful for the physical eject button. Mostly considering upgrading to PS5 because the stupid button on my 4 is defective and constantly ejects discs.

edit: on the other hand, I would ALSO need to buy a new receiver because mine only does coax/optical digital audio.

Fooo, that really is a beefy boi in a box, isn't it? Jeff makes a good point, though, not having that annoying ridge over the rear inputs is an underappreciated upgrade from the PS4 design.

I've warmed up to the look of the PS5, it's still weird as hell that it looks more like a 360 than anything, but it has a retrofuturist look that I really dig.

For real. It takes me a good 2 minutes to plug in that damn HDMI plug on my ps4 whenever I need to after moving it or using its HDMI to plug in something else temporarily.

When they needed efficient cooling for the increased power them AMD chips are pumping out ya gunna need room for heatsinks and airflow. I believe the fins come off easily for cleaning dust and pet fur out of said heatsinks and fans. Should be a great unit. So should the Xbox monolith. Though I'm gunna stick with PC xP

@therealturk: They always do this. Controller that rests on its buttons, who cares? Bright light that shines directly into your screen, which you also can't turn off for some reason, no big deal. Angle the back of the console so adjusting cords becomes super frustrating, that would be funny. Ill still end up with one of these or a slim down the road, but man its frustrating.

I think this thing is pretty huge and ugly... and I wish it was a more simple design and not just a bunch of weird curves. I've never been one to let aesthetics discourage me from getting a new console but I've got a great PC so I also don't really need it.

man i just really don't like the drive bump... makes me want the digital edition when i eventually decide to get one... though i'm hesitant to do that despite rarely ever buying physical ps4 or xbox one games
