Did I ask for exotic...?  I guess I did.  I must have.  The whole planet is called Earth for a reason.

Perhaps there are gaps in the music in this trailer due to censorship, or someone deleted a drum track during editing; they only things i can think of!

meh I like the song.  I didn't notice the drumming oddity until I read the comments after watching the vid.  It is kinda odd..messes with your head a bit.  Whatever tho.  Song that works with a racing game imo.  And the original song isn't messed up like that.

That track is very off putting. I know the original song doesn't have that jarring skipping, I wonder if it was a mistake somehow? There seems to be a long silence at the end of the trailer for seemingly no reason, so maybe if the track didn't skip like it does, it would fill the length of the trailer? Considering I've seen trailers put up with really out of sync audio (the Red Faction teaser perhaps?) then it's entirely possible, but I don't know enough (or indeed anything) about audio recording to know if such an error could even occur.

I'm actually disappointed that the drums aren't supposed to be like that! An alt band playing something other than 4/4, 3/4 timing would be pretty unique! I'd have at least checked them out :P

all those worldy tracks look the same except Japan ^_^
 
i'm gonna buy 12 copies of this game anyway. its pretty like Megan Fox and fun to play with like Shakira.

Horrible use of time signatures. It's great they play something other than 4/4, but man, you have to write something good within the signature, not just play weird time for the sake of playing weird time. I couldn't even tell what time they were playing in. I advise anyone to listen to Dream Theater or Rush to hear odd meters being put to good use.
 
Edit: Isn't the singer Daron from System of a Down? It sure sounds like him.
 
Edit2: It is Daron Malakian. I looked up the song and the Guitar Pro tab, and the song is written in 4/4. Not quite sure what happened with this trailer then.

Pretty crazy that we are all so used to musical notation (even subconsciously) that something like this sticks out and doesn't seem right in some way. I wonder if there are bands out there who play with weird timing just to be different?

Who listens to this type of rubbish? And why is it in a racing game?

I'm more interested in Forza 3, but this is certainly something I'll keep my eye on. Depends on how much have improved since the first game.

God that music sucked majorly. However, the game looks good.

that song was edited.  the real version doesn't sound like that.  that was atrocious.  like fragments were clipped out of the song to make it fit into a shorter video, instead of bleeping the cussing and compressing the time... or making the video longer... 

i hope they never make a trailer this bad again.

yeah holy shit i'm glad i wasn't the only person that noticed the fucking DISGUSTING time signature of this edited cut-ass clip. jesus christ. it was so bad.

So there's piles of dirt all over the world? who knew.

Excellent game based on the demo (by far the most amazing presentation in any racing game ever; I'm pretty much sold on the menu screens alone) 
 
Oh, for those who hate the (poorly-edited) music: the game doesn't play music during races, only on menus/replays.

And, for all the music gurus out there, don't even bother trying to make sense of it.

The first game was really good. This looks like it could be more of the same which sounds okay to me. Hopefully it will hold me over until Forza 3.

I'm now less interested in this game having heard how little effort was put into that song / trailer editing.  Excellent work codemasters.

They were playing in 4/4. I don't know why you think it was a different time signature. What, because the drum beat is off? It still sounds like 4/4, even in this trailer. "

I really enjoyed DIRT and from the looks of it this game won't disappoint. I really curious where the tracks in China are located.
