E3 2017: Get You a Jobby Job in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age

Akihiko Yoshida is my favorite game artist. I love to look of Tactics/XII/XIV.

My worst fears seem to be true. The voices still sound "crunchy." They didn't go back and replace the super-compressed audio they did to fit the game on one PS2 DVD. I know better versions of the voice recordings are sitting on some DAT tapes or a hard drive somewhere.

I feel like the X remake actually looked better than this despite it being the older of the two PS2 games.

I can't believe they remastered this and the voices still sound like they were recorded in tin cans. What the fuck.

I just hope this makes it over as a PC port eventually since I don't have a PS4, but damn do I love me some FF12

The one Final Fantasy game I regret never finishing.

I can't wait to not believe Ondore's lies all over again!

But really, I always wanted this version to come to the states and now it is getting overhauled once again and I'm excited.

I hope @rorie can QL this, and actually starting right out on the silly-ass "Basch Lives" sequence would be good. I believe the immediately following that bit is when you get thrown in a dungeon (and escape) and it is a pretty good mix of story and gameplay, and is not too far in the game but still far in when it is not too many hand-holdy parts. Though my memory is pretty foggy at this stage.

Is this still console only, or are they going to bring it to PC as well like all the games have done lately (except for 15, for now)? Of course there is only a PS4 logo on this trailer, but one can hope, right? :(

First FF that I played so I'm pretty excited to return to it again. I only wish it was out a few weeks earlier so I had time to play it during my break.

Also I love that this trailer has a built in "end slate" for youtube annotation purposes, despite not actually being on youtube. I wonder if this was the version they sent out to press?

I love the art. I love the world. I love the characters and models. I just HATED the game play of FF 12. That game play stunk...not as bad as the ones that followed, teh games just get worse and worse...but ist was the start of FF just being off the rails.

I'm looking forward to it but I know Ben is into it as well. Just have to get through those boring first few hours. That city sequence is a slog.

As I remember this game it was 20min of story and then 10 hours of grinding for another 20min story and then grinding again. It was worse than many MMOs.

For X they remade the main characters and they looked great. This looks more like how the NPCs looked like in X. Just upressed.

I might give this game another chance but I doubt I'll love it like I did the X remake.

I remember saying at the time that all the characters sounded like they had buckets on their heads, and the guys who actually did have buckets on their heads sounded even worse...

I know FF12 has its issues and not everyone loves it, but I really liked it. The look and feel of it was so different from anything else I'd played up until that point. It was also the last game that I played before I packed up my PS2 and bought a 360, so I have a real emotional attachment to it.

Weird, is this not remastered at all?
