The first map they showed looked kinda bland, it was just a dessert. The rest looked pretty good, i just hope the maps are fun if you don't feel like getting in a vehicle.

unfortunate that my opinion of Battlefield 3 rotted out AFTER i bought the premium membership.

Fuck YES. This, THIS is what I want out of Battlefield. THIS will make me go back.

Just wish you console folks were better off game-wise, it sucks that this essentially (from a bitter man's viewpoint) is a PC exclusive.

All they need left is map that takes place near lava, or a volcano.

This is what Battlefield 3 should've been about from the beginning. No one does big, crazy, vehicle multiplayer like BF.

If only every DLC was like this one, maybe Premium would be worth it.

This looks pretty badass, but I find myself wondering why they would announce the sequel before the DLC. Kind of kills my motivation to check it out.

Releasing gameplay trailer after it's been leaked that a sequil is due out next year? Kinda lame...

Maybe the desert map is Atacama from Bad Company 2.

BF3 premium totally worth it.

@Heath: To be fair, if you were to pilot the plane properly, it would be a very boring piloting task. And if you were to pilot the gunship poorly or ram it in to buildings or tanks, there will be complaints on how one player is ruining an important round asset.

Still, it is a shame. As stupid as it was, I miss running carriers and battleships aground in 1942.

I'm really excited for this. I decided fuck it and got myself Premium. I think it was my best purchase of the year so far because it got me back into Battlefield and I've been spending a ton of time playing the new maps which are much more fun than I thought they would be. Now I'm looking forward to spending some time in tanks!

Even though Premium should have launched with the game (or soon after), I'm still happy with it. Viewed as a DLC season Pass, its totally worth it.

The first thing that was noticeable from the beginning is the frame rate. It's one thing to display the game on DICE's own in-house private server, but it's another when the DLC is released to actually see how it will run. As of now, when on the side turret of any of the choppers for the 360 version, the frame rate drops to nothing. Yes, it looks good in the form of a trailer. But I'm not going to blow my load on my computer screen just yet. Wait 'till it's released to see first hand how it'll handle.

Gotta give thanks to EA's CEO for announcing a public competition with Activision and the Call of Duty franchise. Now we have to suffer through all the bullshit maps to accommodate to the bullshit players that jumped ship to destroy our game. Bastards.

I wish everybody wasn't a fucking beast on PC. I actually might have fun with this game.

People play BF games on anything besides a PC?

I kinda don't want to get any of these DLC anymore for 360 and just save for a PC that can play Battlefield 4 in all it's glory.

I ask this question only for my own education, for those criticizing this DLC and the premium pass why is it evil shit to you? Is all DLC bad in your opinion or just BF3? Do you feel the same way towards the MW3 DLC elite service?

And a thing I noticed. The flag icons on the HUD are now finally marked with letters. Currently when you see the icons there flashing you have to sit there for a while going "a, b, c, d..." to know which one is being contested. It's been a weird omission.

It's called Bandar Desert. Looks like you can dig some awesome foxholes in it.

Much like any Battlefield map that's any good you'll have to get into a vehicle to get places, at least initially. Don't know how far apart the bases will be, but those at least look like where infantry will start mattering more on this map.

Hot damn! Battlefield is fucking killing it! All those people who solely play CoD really need to give BF a chance and see just what they're missing. Battlefield is just excellent. The gameplay is so good and finely tuned it even works fantastically in close quarters as witnessed in the recent maps.

People complaining about BF3 maps not being good until Amored Kill are silly and just come off as a bit snobish. BF3 is great, across the board. I'm a die-hard BF from way back too. But this next map pack just looks freaking awesome. Finally a plane I can fly with my friends and a tank focused mode!

It's just too bad Premium doesn't extend to all platforms. I own the PS3 version and rock that with my friends that don't quite have the horsepower to play it on the PC. Then I also have BF3 for PC because it looks gorgeous running at essentially max settings with no issues. I only own premium on PS3 though seeing as those friends play more frequently than my PC friend. So I've already dropped 120 bucks on two copies of BF3 and 50 bucks on Premium. Come on EA, throw me a freaking bone. Give me preimum access on PC too. It doesn't help that my BF3 PC web-browser interface is all decked out in Premium logos but I can't actually access it. Oh well.... still love this game!

Too bad you can't actually fly the AC130, but given the wide player skill range, it's probably for the best.

I hate to say it, but this premium thing was worth it. I do think map DLC should be free or even cheaper, but whatever. I bought it so it isn't a rip-off.
