Hyper Light Drifter Coming Next Spring

I backed this as my first ever kickstarter and unless it's coming from a known dev I will no longer back games....god knows when I will get my Xbox One copy.

well everybody knows that maxim "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

So, hey...when is Rime coming out?

I know this has been said before, but can we PLEASE stop doing pixel art? Do anything else for about 5 years then come back to it. There's just too many games trying to do this look and the last one that I actually loved the look of was Fez.

This game still looks amazing to me. I can wait, 2015 has so many good games already.

Hm, yea there's no way they could know if that game is done 9 months from now. Probably a 2017 title. Still looks cool, though

Feels like this game has been coming out for forever now. Still I'm excited. Usually I'm pretty dismissive of these pixel art indie games, only because we get them like a time a dozen now, but I think this game just has style. I hope it plays well, and I hope it's not procedurally generated.

Man, I remember when I originally saw this game in my steam greenlight queue way back when. Been trying to put it out of my mind ever since because I want it so damn bad and it just never seemed to have a release date at all. I'd almost forgotten about it. Thanks Alex...

Music reminds me of the opening scene of Alien. Awesome trailer overall.

Not to sound like an asshole but I kinda hope they managed to get the framerate at 60, the alpha felt a bit sluggish.
Still excited for it obviously, just a minor complaint.

Been waiting for this ever since I first found out about it (right after the KS ended), and every single thing I've seen throughout the development process has impressed me. I really hope it turns out to be hugely successful, you can tell that they're crafting it with love.

Finally, some kind of news for this game. I'm hyped for Hyper Light Drifter.

This is the only Kickstarter I've backed that hasn't completely turned to vaporware. How novel.

Friendly reminder that the other trailer is also so damn good.

Announcing a releasedate 9+ months from the announcement is only something big studio's can do. They can easily push for said date by throwing in more resources if needed. A small indie studio can't do that, they normally only know when they are done 1 or 2 months before release. So this announced date is pretty much bullshit.

Really reminds me of Sword and Sworcery for some reason.

Looking forward to this, I remember it getting insane amounts of hype at 2014 E3, but I haven't seen much on it.

Also, the art style is 100% Capy games - kind of surprised it was a different dev!

@thiago123: @goonage: This is at the heart of those pixel art complaints, I think. I don't know if Sword & Sworcery created that style, but something in the vein of what they did has become a very popular style of pixel art. Maybe the complaints would vanish if indie games used other sorts of pixel art more often. But perhaps not. Some people surely just don't like pixels.

Happy this thing is finally going to come out soon. I backed it ages ago, and it still seems real cool.

I think this game looks fantastic, but in general I'm definitely feeling a pixel art fatique. Wasn't low-res polygon art going to be the next hot thing in indie games?
