I'd drop 15-20 bucks on a vita or pc version that was balanced as if there were no microtransactions.

I'm surprised it's taken this long. When you look at the likes of Angry Birds and see just how many versions of that exist, it is surprising that there is only the one PvZ.

I loved this when it was released for the PC but played it again on my iPhone. Touch controls were meant for this game.

I'm still playing this, so I'm down. Played it on 360 first, then on PC, and now on my phone.

Pretty sure it had 5 heads, and one would assume that it focuses 3 down the middle of its are while the other two cover the side lanes, much like the Splitpea from the first one.

The true bullshit is why it is coming to iOS exclusively. I don't like Apple products and I do not see a reason why this, or most other mobile games for that matter, should be iOS exclusive. It's not like iPhones can do more than other phones. It's not like Apple owns the rights to those games. As far as I know, no deals are made either. I could be wrong about that stuff, but that's how I understand it.

Seems like purposefully ignoring a large part of your potential user base. Not only dumb, but also a dick move.

This is pretty much only TD game I can handle.

@zevvion: There are more iOS devices out in the wild then you would believe and people with iOS devices tend to buy more apps/spend more on them. I have an iPhone myself but I bought the original PvZ on Steam when it came out. I'd like to play it again through my PC if possible...

Because EA can milk out the most money with a free to play game with micro-transactions instead of asking a standard 10 bucks for it with a chance of pirating.

There's even more Android devices. By almost double. Not sure why the 500 mill number is relevant.

The downside with Android devices is that most people who get apps on there would be free or they would be pirated. Also even with the free games, devs see very little ROI via in-app purchases in the Android market, that's why devs would usually opt to make it in iOS first.

@zevvion: It's not coming to Mac either (at least, not until the PC version does), so I wouldn't say Apple has a monopoly on these kinda games.

Help me out over here: Why is everybody crazy for what seems like a rather casual tower defense game on the iPad from EA? I'm not saying you shouldn't be or anything but I can't even count the number of people complaining on this very website about:
A) A game being to casual
B) A game being a tower defense game
C) iPad games
D) EA

But combine all of the above and everybody loves it?

I'm not usually into tower defence games, but I found PvZ really fun and engaging. I think the game has a great, humoristic tone and a fun visual design. The gameplay is very easy to just pick up and play, and the game eases you into the various challenges well, eliminating frustrations that I've had with other TD games. I also like the horizontal row-based gameplay more than having one row like most TD games. Also, the game is greatly varied, with new plants, zombies and level mechanics being regularly introduced.

Just a great game all around IMO.

A) I wouldn't necessarily call PvZ a casual game. It get's pretty hectic near the back half of the game and I haven't played a casual game that constantly introduced new mechanics to you while both making it incredibly easy to understand AND not holding your hand.

B) Tower defense games are awesome.

C) There are also a lot of awesome iPad games, why is this a negative? And in any case, if this is anything like the first PvZ, it's going to wind up on every platform there is.

D) Meh

Haha I was just thinking this. Loved the first, then I remembered Origin. I don't hate Origin, but man, it would be cool if it was on Steam.

I'll start paying attention when it's on a device I actually own (aka almost anything except apple products).
