Was surprised to see that each rank gives you a new partner. It never even crossed my mind, to be honest, and I figured the game was going to span two particular cops careers. A cool detail anywhoo.

Still want to get into this game

Appears to be a good amount of content in this game as each video shows something new. 

I'm hoping there isn't too much sandbox in this game (which it sounds like there isn't) -- I always get distracted and, oh, look:  a squirrel!

Too bad it's not gonna be on PC.

Looking pretty good gameplay wise. Graphics are ok. Too bad the current console generation is not holding up. I still will wait for a review first.

I still can't get over how they decided to roll with the "noire" misspelling.  

Is it just me or does this look shockingly like Mafia 2?  I'm sure it'll be great (hey, I liked Mafia 2 as well), but dang it if I don't watch this and think of nothing but Mafia 2.

The narrator for these L.A Noire videos is so damn matter-of-fact I can never get all the way through.  Something about the way he talsk just irks me...

As are mine, DAMMIT! we should team up or something! Just bring some deoderant when we sit and watch videos together so the mess we fill our pants with dosn't stink up the place quite so much.

Still looking great but I wonder how well the open world aspect will work. What happens if I start running people over on the foot path? Or just start gunning people down? Even on a mission if I run a civilian over by accident what happens? 

looks awesome just hope it doesn't tun out to be another 'the getaway'

Forget this game I just wish this facial animation was in other stuff, like Mass Effect maybe?

Not the best voice work by the narrator but the game looks amazing.

This game is looking, and always seemed like it was going to be awesome.

This reminds me a great deal of an old PS2 game called True Crime: New York City, where you could force people out of their cars by flashing your badge, and yes you could frisk people and plant drugs on them! Even had brutal takedowns, when you arrested people.

Such good cop-partner names.  Bekowsky! You're off the case!

it wont be like that at all...for one it's not a rockstar game, its by team bondi. and second the only free roaming aspect of this game will be during the cases.

L.A. Noire is designed very differently, not only from Grand Theft Auto but also from any other game. It's built around the concept of cases, and each case is a self-contained unit, like an episode of a cop show. The game is designed to be a crime thriller, really making you feel like you're a detective pursuing and solving cases. So you don’t begin cases from a mission marker on a map like GTA or RDR; you begin inside each case or by accessing it from the "Cases" menu.

So while there isn't "free roam" in the game along the lines of those games, the world is open to traverse from location to location. And, there are some hidden items scattered around the world to find and collect on the way, including classic film reels, landmarks, and rare vehicles. You’ll have to use your investigative skills, though. Finding everything will yield XPs to unlock intuition points and unlock an achievement/trophy, and progress will be trackable at the Rockstar Games Social Club.

You will also be able to tackle unassigned street crime cases around the city. These will come in over your radio while you’re on a major case or will be discoverable as you travel. These include things like chasing down a purse snatcher, thwarting a robbery in progress, talking a suicide jumper safely off a ledge, and lots more. That said, free-form anarchy is not something a good detective is rewarded for--running over a pedestrian while on a case or causing public damage or harm will lower your end-of-case rating. And, a detective who pulled out his weapon any time other than in the line of duty would not be on the force for long.

 

There are definitely some heads on those bodies.
