The matchmaking in the last game felt really slow and archaic. I'm hoping they improve that stuff. I still really like the Nickelodeon slime fest aesthetic going on here.

I want to get into this. Never took the time to really get into Splatoon 1. Vinny I'm gonna paint you. SPLAT

I couldn't get past the controls on the original. I'll try and give this one another shot.

The issues they were seeing in the video were mostly related to their locked down corporate internet. I had no issues for like half an hour during the test on Saturday.

Anybody else having just a tiny bit of input lag with the motion controls? I noticed this in zelda too. I dont have latency with anything else, like pushing buttons for example. Motion control is definitely the superior way to play splatoon, but not like this!

Yay, I've been waiting for this archive. Never played Splatoon myself, but it's a really fun game to watch.

Even if I do harbor resentment toward it for "You're a kid you're a squid you're a kid you're a squid" randomly sticking in my head ever since the first game came out.

Anyone know how they fixed their connection problems? I didn't manage to play any of this testfire because I couldn't connect. :(

I have a whole Twitch VOD showing off the wonderful connection issues I had. Didn't get one chance to play in the testfire event. Yes, this is going through my pfSense router as well... which has 0 issues for anything I throw at it. I tried everything and the kitchen sink with no luck whatsoever.

(yes, I did reboot the switch, twice... AND tried it with both a wired and wireless connection too!)

I was able to get into *ONE* almost-full "lobby" but it just sat there for 5-10 minutes with no one filling the last slot. *sigh*

I agree with Vinny. I don't "get" Splatoon.

I just think I like shooting dudes too much for this. It has so many smart systems but I just like shooting dudes damnit. Dead dudes > painted floors

i couldn't connect to the internet when the switch was docked for some reason ! was fine when i took it out of the dock?? anyway this game is fun

this looked and felt like more of the same. i'm down for it!

By the end, Vinny seemed in to it; especially when he realised it could be a great game for his kids.

I can never help but feel that they really really reaaaallly wanted to get Polysics to do the soundtrack to these games because damn they are kinda spot on imitating them on the ost.

You just prefer to paint the floors red... only red.

Enjoyed seeing Alex's enthusiasm for Splatoon!

@valeo: I like the style and idea of Splatoon more than the game itself.

The first one was so much fun, I can't wait to get some more Splatoon. The single player was also very underrated. Lots of fun levels and the last boss was bonkers.

First time I had played Splatoon, I found the movement speed frustratingly slow, and the jump height next to useless.

Well, this looks the same amount of boring as the first one.

'not feeling the new dual splat guns too much' well you two basically never used the dodge roll which is the absolute crucial upper hand

I wonder if Nintendo ever considered allowing players to independently aim each Splat Dualie with the Joy-Cons. That would be super rad.

Something very calming about watching Alex and Dan take turns playing Splatoon.

As someone who never owned a Wii U, but almost bought one just for Splatoon (and Mario Maker), I am super interested in this. Looks good so far.

Vinny is the best for making a fuckin' Snorks reference in 2017. I always assumed Vinny couldn't get into Splatoon because he's colorblind. I imagine all the paint just blends together in his eyes. The again Jeff liked the game and went so far as to call it fresh so what do I know.

I'm definitely with you to some extent. In retrospect I don't really care for much of Scott Stapp's singing or songwriting but Mark Tremonti's guitar work is unquestionably awesome and in my opinion made that band what it was.

I just really don't like Splatoon for some reason, I am glad that others like it. It's just a me problem I guess, but from the music, to the ascetics, to the game play itself, it just doesn't do it for me.
