No more MMOs please. I'm especially tired of these higher end CGI trailers that have little to nothing to do with the actual game (looking at you SW:TOR).

so its a about a guy who is mentaly unstable and fighting for control. sure why not

That CG trailer actually makes me want to see more about what this game is.
 
Also, what's with that guy's expressions? Was he modeled after Charles Grodin?

I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, but everything I see for this makes it look fucking rad.

I admit, the zip at the end was pretty good.

I'm with you on this one. Seams like there is a new MMO each month and like 10 a year or something (Free or otherwise) and it's already an over saturated market where your not really going to pull many more folks into.

On top of that this is being made by FUN COM. So expect to see tons a of bugs and empty promises that are not inlcuded even tho they're mentioned on the box, and it turning out to be more bland than usual.

Cool CG trailer, and a little more hopeful on the actual game given what was talked about at today's EA summer showcase. Still, will hold reservations till we see full on gameplay and such.

Still no gameplay or in-engine screens? If there is one, call me an ignorant fool, for it is rightly so.

This game sounds so cool. And I don't have a problem with the CG trailers since they've released screenshots and in-engine footage already - the game exists, y'know? But it's an MMO, not an RPG, so I'll never play it! That's a shame. Funcom should make a console game sometime. The universe established here for The Secret World would make a great action-adventure/RPG.
 
How can EA keep putting out MMOs? APB was a huge failure; I'm assuming Warhammer wasn't successful either. Between this and the Old Republic, aren't they...getting a little gutsy, y'know? Oh well; hope they find a successful MMO between one of these two. They should be lucky they haven't yet ended up with a money black-hole like Final Fantasy XIV. APB may have been a big failure, but it was over and done with in an instant. Meanwhile Square's still operating FFXIV...

I want to look forward to this so much because I absolutely love the story/settings from Ragnar Tornquist. I can't help but think that between Funcom and EA the game is going to get ruined by too much instancing, invisible walls, and some sort of mictrotransaction, F2P, nanopayment bullshit with some advertising sprinkles on top.

Liam Neeson in "The Secret World" The Movie

It is a pretty cool short film, for what thats worth.

Kinda digging the idea of an MMO with no levelling up, but it makes me wonder when they say theres no grinding, since the 'grind' is all that there has ever been to make people keep playing an MMO. Still, if they have found a way, I'm all for it, and this IP looks interesting enough to merit some optimism.

This looked really cool and got me really interested... until I read it was an MMO. No thanks. Also totally feels like Hellblazer/john Constantine.
