I totally missed this live, but I have the actual worst 80's song. Laurie Anderson - O Superman. I had part of it as my voicemail message for a solid decade. People hated it, and I don't blame them.

Now onto the 90's!

Definitely agree with "Lady in Red" being the worst, but songs that should have been much higher up the list (and thus are much worse than the Bombcast thinks they are):

"Hey Mickey" - Saying you can clap along to it makes it a much worse song in my book. Any song that is a standard at weddings or at kids parties because people who have no rhythm or music sense can either sing along, clap along or dance along (ie Hokey Pokey, Birdie Song, etc) generally means the song is devoid of any artistic integrity.

"The Wild Boys" (Duran Duran) - Absolutely horrible track that didn't make this list. Some of the worst singing I've heard.

And "Temporary Secretary" should have been much, much lower on this list. It's fantastic!

The late great Gerry Anderson (local radio presenter here in NI) used to play it regularly during his weekday 10am-midday slot and the complaints would roll in. Glorious.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned a Milli Vanilli song yet in this recurring feature. They somehow managed to have multiple songs reach the #1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 in the late 80s: Baby Don't Forget My Number, Girl I'm Gonna Miss You, Blame It On The Rain.

This is one of those times I'm reminded why I love this damn website.
