Not only was it great for Brad to stream while everyone was away, but I also appreciate him taking the time to upload the archive over the weekend. <3

I didn't expect this to be so long, thanks! I'll take this Brad marathon over any embarrassing PAX wrestling streams every time.

@so1337: I had a similar reaction to 87°F, but then I found out that he doesn't have central cooling in his house. Just fans and windows.

Edit: The writing in Mario + Rabbids seems to be absurd in a way I really dig

Ended up picking up a Switch at a local Target, they had 5 or 6 grey ones and one neon version (which of course is the one I bought). They didn't have the Mario and Rabbids game so I got Splatoon2 and Puoy Puyo Tetris. I've only play the Tetris game so far but I do like the system. I'm getting physical copies of the games so far but I'm sure the eshop will get some of my business soon, not too sure about Phantom Trigger, it looks great but the gameplay seemed a bit lacking from the little I've seen.

Yeah, it must be rough. It's been 109-110 in phoenix for several weeks and back in June it was about 118-119 so yeah, in the nineties sounds rough. /s

Thanks Brad! Unexpected warm weather and no way to deal with it is the worst, but at least you have a Switch to keep you distracted as you slowly melt.

Came for the Rabbids, stayed for the (literally) hot Brad.

I didn't hear his room fan until he mentioned it. Now I can't stop hearing it.

This composing from Kirkhope is a bit workman like; it's been a thing from him lately.

To the "it's not that hot" people, almost no one in the Bay Area has air conditioning. Why? Because it's super mild 99.999% of the time. So, while you might live in some desert hellscape where it's 120 degrees, I'm sure you have an AC.

Yeah I mean, I grew up in an area of the country that was 90-100 and 100% humidity in the summers. The difference is there everyone has air conditioning. Here we don't even have ceiling fans, let alone a/c. There's just no need for any kind of real household cooling in SF, so when the temperature spikes into the 90s randomly, people aren't equipped to deal with it or escape from it in their homes at all.

Where I live, houses were built to keep the heat in for cold winters, not to keep cool in the summer, so anything over 20c and I feel like the world is burning down around me.

During the hottest parts of the summer my bedroom is often 84 degrees at night and that's with the ac running and a ceiling fan. Brad was dying because his room was 84 degrees.

I live in a muggy summers and cold winters part of the country. Being in a no flow room with 85+ degree temps along with consoles and other things running would SUCK. Sure everyone handles heat differently, but good for you you won the gene lottery if you can tolerate it.

Keep in mind the Bay Area is nine counties stretching over a big chunk of land with fairly diverse climate. I live 25 miles east of SF, and most people have AC here. During a normal summer we'll get a few 100 degree days and lots of 90+ days.

Friday and Saturday it was 110 here.

@thallium: Oh man, 84 degrees in my bedroom gives me a visceral reaction. We have our thermostat set to 68 degrees at 10:00pm. It's actually warmer than that but our thermostat is pretty old and janky. I live in an area (Southern Wyoming) where heating and cooling are a must. Most of us with decent sized houses have central air. Our previous home had a "swamp" or evaporative cooler in one window of the house. Our summers frequently get into the 90-100 degree range. While it is a very dry heat it can still be very intense. Our winters are the other extreme. We had a night this past Winter that reached -44 degrees in my town.

We demolished records this year. A friend of mine has a video of him taking boiling hot water at 3:00am, throwing it outside his door up in the air, and it turning to frozen mist immediately. That morning I woke up and the top 5 coldest cities in the world were all in Wyoming.

Those DLC weapons on rabbids are incredibly OP on that first world. (He's critting half the enemies) I'm guessing there would have been a loss on that midboss without them. Not only are they better than what he could have spent 1500 gold for, now he has all that extra money going forward

Brad streams are always a delight... Missed this live because I was at MaxFunCon. Speaking of, the overlap of people at MaxFunCon who just immediately at least knew what Giant Bomb was (even if they were often Polygon fans instead... the MBMBAM effect can't be ignored) was unreal.

Thanks for putting this on you guys. I truly miss it when you skip a UPF, and I remember once there was a complete shit-show with Brad and Vinny trying to play Far Cry or Dying Light while everyone else was out. I'm really glad you've found a solution, and long may it continue!!!

@convox: There's basically none, but people wanted to talk about the McElroys who have several podcasts on Maximum Fun, including the most popular one by far. Their video game jobs inevitably came up, and when I'd mention that I preferred Giant Bomb instead, it was never a "what's that" reaction, which in my experience is generally what I get. Instead of feeling like a crazy who was evangelizing GB, most people were like "oh cool! I liked their x video" or "weren't they started by that one guy."

Really I was just relating how surreal it felt to meet strangers, and lots of them, who invited me to talk about dumb websites about video games. It was also my first convention which probably has something to do with that.

@meauntienora: There's definitely a good feeling to being able to 'talk shop' about games, often I'd rather do that than play the damn things with people.

I think a good equivalent would be meeting someone who's deep enough in to know mention Companies rather than specific games/series.

I always assumed everyone in california put air conditioning in everything. Idk how else you'd exist in the state
