Welp, can't do unlimited and the main dude really likes scanlines. Looks like I'll have to stick with GGPO or FightCade or whatever it's called nowadays.

After all those years of hearing how awesome the game is and simultaneously how impossible it is to actually get and play I'm glad we can finally put it behind us and everyone can enjoy it. Even if it's just local and online sucks or whatever it's still a huge step forward for people being able to readily enjoy the game after all the hype.

People who say CRTs and Scanlines on old games made for them are bad, need to put the controller down and never play another video game in their life. Bad Scanlines that do a poor job I understand, but dissing the classic, makes you unable to be a true gamer. Quit now.

Giant Bomb got weird.

Simulated scanlines are like over dependency on bad CGI in a movie, it takes me out of the experience and destroys my immersion.

Man this version of windjammers seems great, but boy do I not need these corporate hype men and women that game companies send to QLEXs these days. Just have some devs talk about and leave the entertaining banter to the Giant Bomb staff.

I have an old CRT that I sometimes use for NES and the like, and I think it looks great. Most CRT filters, on the other hand, look TERRIBLE - the screen warp is exaggerated, fake scanlines don't look a great deal like a real CRT, none that I've used seem to emulate a CRT's image persistence, and having an unwarpped/scanlined border image just highlights that.

I agree. Like I said, the bad scanlined imitations are crappy. Fortunately, there are good filters out there like HLSL, and GEOM. Both proved very realistic scanlines, shadow mask, bloom, etc compared to real CRTs: Not perfect, but really close. My point was the people who shun CRTs in general when classic games were made and in a lot of cases look best on them.

Damn, I wish we could like comments, also that guy in the very beginning really is an intense blinker, he blinks with his whole face as he holds that impossible pose until they select an option. So weird.

For all those calling for Stephanie Tinsley to get the Giant Bomb job -- she's probably slightly out of their price range considering she's basically the top hired gun in games PR.

God hate the CRT filter, and yes this would be cool on the PC.

Yeah, Jeff said elsewhere that they're changing what it's called to make it more clear that it's different from a regular Quick Look. Also because EXs are usually unfinished games, so really they should be Unfinished EX, but that just makes the branding even more confusing.
