The inverse of an anti-hero. An anti-villain is a villain that portrays him/herself as someone who is just and altruistic while is secretly working towards an otherwise nefarious and villainous goal. Common archetypes of anti-villains are politicians and religious figures who craft a wholesome and good-natured image to hide their evil intentions; this may even sometimes include doing good deeds, but only as a temporary measure to potentially further their true ambitions.
One of Agumon's mega digivolutions.
Whether it's a hero's turn to the dark side or a villain becoming a hero, it's usually unexpected and will bring a whole new moral dimension to the story. Sometimes, they change they sides more than once.
A Holy-species Digimon. It wears a holy ring on its tail that, if lost, decreases its power.
The police force of Gotham City. Because they are often corrupt, they frequently clash with Batman, though sometimes they are legitimate and act as (reluctant) allies to him.
Guilmon is a Rookie Reptile Digimon. Although it is a Rookie it is considered a "Combat Species" meaning it has tremendous hidden power. In Digimon Tamers, he is Takato Matsuda's partner. He is voiced by well known voice actor Steve Blum in the english-dubbed version of the show.
This concept involves a character of the hero archetype that at some point in the storyline, turns against the forces of good and becomes evil or is revealed to have done this in secret at some point in the past.
Genetically engineered aliens who were created by Dr. Jumba Jookiba in Disney's "Lilo & Stitch" franchise. There are over 629 of them, including the famous Experiment 626, also known as Stitch, who thanks to Lilo Pelekai's influence calls his fellow experiments "cousins" after Hawaiian terminology.
The Kilrathi are a race of warlike extraterrestrials. Physically they are bipeds who strongly resemble big cats with leonine manes.
Koromon is a Digimon whose name is taken from something round and rolling (korokoro)
One of Guilmon's mega level Digivolutions.
Genetically evolved humans, animals or aliens.
Whether you've done some bad things in the past, or inadvertently helped open up a portal that unleashed an army of aliens that would destroy the world, video game heroes have countlessly fought for that one loftiest of goals, redemption.
Many games feature a story which involves saving the world and its inhabitants, often single handedly.
One of Agumon's possible ultimate level Digivolutions.
Stars of Destiny are recruitable characters in the Suikoden franchise. They serve various functions from combat to shopkeeping to pivotal story events and are based on the 108 Stars of Destiny concept seen in the Chinese novel Water Margin.
Souls of various individuals from history and mythology consigned to Hell in Dante's Inferno. Many of them can be absolved of Dante and thus allowed to leave Hell and ascend to Heaven.
A tragic hero is a protagonist who makes several mistakes to fall from glory, or is affected by tragedy and seeks revenge or redemption.
A group of Shinigami who have gained Hollow powers.
Defenders of Earth and the Dragon Balls in the Dragon Ball Universe.
