3 times, I bought the Pro bundle back in 2006 and it lasted a few months before the laser gave out and it stopped reading disc so I got a replacement from Microsoft which said until the end of 2007. My brother bought a used system at a pawnshop that gave us the same problems as the first system like the disc read error that said please insert an Xbox 360 disc into the system. My brother had to bang on the system just to get it to work but as got a brand new elite at Walmart with 2 year warranty and sold the broken Xbox 360 to our cousin and transferred the hard drive to the 120GB one. Elite works strong and hasn't broken down on us yet.

The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation and is the successor to the original Xbox.
How many times has your 360 died?
"i think this is my 8th or 9th"That´s just insane, how do you put up with it? i´m fucking angry about mine being broken only two times.
Twice. While I was waiting a month for the third to come down to me, my brother got me a Arcade version, and when his fucked up, I let him borrow the one Microsoft sent me back. Now it's giving him shit, so the next time it'll be Three Times, and it'll be my last. I'm tired of fucking around with a console that was built with almost no forward thinking, no exclusive titles worth mentioning(Gears and Halo are abominations to the medium), no good games that aren't on PC, and forcing you into fear that the fucker is going to conk out any minute. The only reason people keep the damn thing is the Xbox Live friends and the achievement points, a gimmick that is optimized for additional enjoyment in only a hand-full of games.
OVER 9000!!!!!!!!......it had to be said :P

Someone who thinks exactly like I do! I bought a 360 after they said the fixed the RROD the first time. After a repair and a replacement, I promptly sold the thing on Ebay. I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing me say it, but I'm going to repeat it until it sinks in: Why do you keep buying crappy products? You wouldn't buy a car if it kept doing this to you, right?
My first one died about 3 times and I was able to bring it back. But then it died completely on xmas eve, which sucked. So i'm now on my second
I got my first 360 in january of 2006, it died on me a year later and then I had to return the one MS sent me right away because it had a bad disc drive (December 2006), then it killed itself again February 2008 and then I committed suicide once more just this past month (January 2009). So it has been a long hard road for me. I am on my 5th one now I guess. I still love it, just hate how it dies on you.
Mine works great. It's crashed like twice, but then I just rebooted it and it worked fine. It hasn't crashed since I updated the software. Now I couldn't be happier. If you live anywhere near Bloomington Indiana, There's a guy who fixes xbox360s there, Actually he fixes just about anything electronic., And no, I'm not him. He's Greek, I'm English/Californian, good times, good times. Just look for kappatronics, I think that's what it's called. I couldn't find a website, but if you live in the area, just look for it. He's really good, and cheap. Well I don't know about cheap, I can't really compare to anyone else. But 10-20 dollars depending on how badly it's broken. I don't think he's failed at fixing anything yet. He was asking for video games to test on the systems he had fixed so let him have mine (Marvel Ultimate Alliance, hated that game) since I sorta new him. So now he's fixing 360s like crazy.
my first one gave out last summer, and my current Hardrive i think it died today:(Also Windows live sucks and xbox live is disconnecting alot for me and it screws up me playing Dawn of War 2,they should have just let that game have its own servers or peer to peer cause Windows live is absolutely terrible.I honestly hate Microsoft and wish many bad things upon them...
My first system didn't get the RROD but the disc drive died. My second one is working perfectly fine.
Just once, luckily. A couple years back, shortly after Microsoft announced those extended warranties, my launch unit system broke down.
Once and only once in its entire lifetime, and I believe I have had it since 2006 (around when Oblivion and GRAW were on the rage or something). Considering all of my other pals that had to live without it for like a month, I say I'm pretty lucky, since I got mine in less than a week. Sorry to all that had to suffer through that more than I did (which, needless to say, isn't much) :(
Xbox 360 is the worse console to ever hit the market
Fuck it and fuck Microsoft, PS3 all the way.
I hate to sound like a fanboy, but the 360 is a terrible console. I used to love it, but after it broke on me over and over again, I just got tired of it. Now my 4th Xbox is breaking on me, so now I have to turn the peice of shit in to get repaired so it can last another 6 months then break again. Seriously, people need to open their damn minds about this and realise that you are paying for Microsoft's MISTAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
