You'll need a staple game, something everyone else already has.  My vote goes to COD4 because of it's incredible replay value.

I'd give second place to Orange box, just because of how much great content there is.

I'm gonna go with GTA4. It's something that every gamer should experience, for its story, characters and incredible sense of immersion.

Also, nice to see the Polls feature has rolled out! The Giant Bomb staff spoil us...

Gears of War and Gears of War 2. The quintessential Xbox 360 games.

If you're after online though, go fo COD 4

Unfortunately I am not currently online, something I plan to rectify in the next couple of months. Is there any point buying COD 4 before I get online?

not really, I'm not online either so I managed to borrow it off a friend and managed to burn through the main story in a solid day of gaming. The main story is really intense and enjoyable, but main replay value is in playing against other people

COD4 would definitely be worth a rental or borrow though and purchase in the future when online is up and running

If you can only get one game, make it GTA IV.

Harsh...I'm crying on the inside. I'm too much of a man to show my true emotions on the outside.

That's a really tough decision, but I will have to go with Grand Theft Auto IV.  Any one of them is a fantastic choice, though.

gta4 sucks. its not fun and the story sucks after about half way through, and the friends won't stop annoying you with stupid phone calls (despite the cell phone being a great new feature)
