UPDATE: Microsoft is saying they've fixed the issue and you can restore your gamerscore by signing out and choosing to download your profile again (no need to delete it first). it worked for me - for now. The issue wasn't Mass Effect 3 specific.

I fired up Mass Effect 3 just now and as the game loaded I got a message saying I last played it on a different console and it would now load my own save data. I figured it was some kind of glitch in the game and just hit ok.

When I started playing Galaxy at War I hit one guy with a biotic power and unlocked "Sky High." Remembering I had already unlocked that achievement I went to my profile to check and sure enough my gamerscore was down to 15, with Sky High the only achievement at all unlocked!

Any idea what happened? How can I fix this?

I've had my gamertag since original Xbox and have tons of achievements and completed games. This is really frustrating!

Well, now. This is the second thread announcing this issue that I've commented on. Someone at the MS Xbox server office must have spilled their coffee on some important equipment or something.

I'm curious as to whether my gamerscore has reset or not. Can't check it until about 3:00, but it will be interesting to see if it's an epidemic or something.

EDIT: I'd be willing to bet this is widespread now, though for me it's just not a big deal. Disappointing but my reaction is just curiosity as to its cause, not anger.

I just turned on my Xbox and still have my 70K. That is seriously worrying... hopefully your gamerscore will just come back...

Just checked my account on Xbox.com and I still have mine, its probably some glitch with ME3 considering I haven't played it.

Checked on the XBox website and my 62k is still there. Might just be a glitch. I'd wait until tomorrow to see if it fixes itself and if not call XBox support.

Same thing just happened to me playing mass effect 3.

I made an account just to post here and say that it also happened to me. Except it happened to me when I fired up NBA 2K12. Same message and everything popped up. I was editing MyPlayer and I got the achievement saying "My Big Eight-O" and I know I already had it because I've been at 99 overall for a long time now.

Now I only have 20 gamerscore when I did have... 32,493.

Got a friend who hasn't played ME3, but his just reset. Seems to be random.

This just happened to me too. I re-downloaded the From Ashes DLC and it happened, not sure if that was related, it previously hadn't been appearing in the game. Now i have 0 gamerscore :(

Sorry to hear you guys are having the same problem, but I'm relieved it's not just me. Glad the issue isn't just with Mass Effect 3, that way MS can't say "talk to EA, not us" or something like that (though that'd be ridiculous anyway, since MS runs XBL and thus, gamertags/achievements/etc).

Hopefully I didn't screw myself over by unlocking that achievement before I noticed my score had been reset.

Just happened to me too, I am kinda pissed (especially after I just S-ranked Dark souls)

Yeah I didn't know it reset until I unlocked an achievement and I'm stuck at 20g... I really hope I get my score back

I also lost my points. I thought someone had hacked my account so now I'm relieved that it's happening to many people.

Uh-oh... This isn't good. I had just stopped playing ME3 at 6:30 PT. Hopefully when I get back on the 360 it doesn't happen to me too.

I've had exactly the same problem playing Skyrim just now. Got the same message about playing recently on another console.

No, but other people on the Xbox forums and Bioware forums are saying they have and it didn't help.

Hopefully MS is on it and working on a fix.

made an account to post like the guy above the same stuff happened to me but i was on spec ops mw3 survived round one note im level 47 so ive obviously survived many rounds and i got the achievement im not to bothered i only had a 2000 gamerscore not to bothered but still i want it back

Not near an Xbox, but xbox.com doesn't list any achievements for anything right now. Says 138,000 but I honestly don't know what my gamerscore should be (it's right around there).

This, just fired up my xbox to start the hardest difficulty and my score was set to 0.

Hopefully they fix the issue, or i will sell my xbox and all my games because i won't support such incompetence.

I just finishes MGS2:Sons of Liberty, restarted a new game to pick up a few of the acheivments and noticed my gamerscore had gone. Im on the xbox support chat at the moment and it appears microsoft know about the problem.

I was playing gears online, got the "welcome to versus" achievement and realized my achievements were gone.

And people deserve to know why it happened and is there a possibility that it will reoccur. I'd imagine this really is news for majority of people because they are attached to their gamerscore one way or another.

Ditto here but on the contact us page of Xbox there's the following text so they are at least aware of the problem:

Some customers are currently showing zero achievements and gamer scores on Xbox LIVE. We are aware of the problem and appreciate your patience while we implement a solution.

Yeah this just happened to me too, I only noticed because I unlocked an achievement I already had. Hope they fix it

I downloaded my profile and it seems to have worked - so everybody should at least try it - although some are saying it didn't do anything for them!

This is widespread, Ambassador chat is blowing up. XboxSupport is aware of the issue, no official word just yet.

It might have something to do with playing online multiplayer, or games that have ties to it. I've noticed a few people I know getting this after playing Gears 3 (which is when it happened to me) either way, this is really strange.

Oh, I thought this was a EA/FIFA related problem. The issue only started happening for me after I updated FIFA with today's patch.

I have however, solved most of the problems I had. Initially the Xbox kept freezing when I tried to do anything memory related (ie loading a game and choosing my hard drive or going into my system memory to delete my cache to see if that fixed it). Then the gamerscore issue's started to occur. I couldn't click on gamerscore or awards via the guide (although my gamerscore still showed, in full) and I couldn't via my gamerscore via the dashboard.

I've since restarted my Xbox a few times and I can now get onto my gamerscore however it is only showing my most recently played game in the list. I've checked xbox.com and everything is normal (I can see all my games etc.)

XboxSupport is suggesting a sign-out and back in to fix. Can anyone verify this fixed their issue?
