A classic side-scrolling brawler from Jaleco, that follows Private Eye Rick Anderson, and his protege Allen Tombs as they rescue a client's kidnapped daughter from the evil clutches of the Legacy Corperation.

Concepts

Boss Fight

A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists.
Bosses

Video game bosses are usually the main antagonist, and arch nemesis of the main protagonist. In most cases the end of a game is when the main character defeats the final boss.
Character Select Screen

A concept in games with multiple characters, a screen with pictures of all playable characters with the possibility of stat listings.
Countdown Timer

The ultimate pressure feature. You have to complete the task at hand, be it finishing your opponent or cutting the right wire, in the allotted time depending on which game you're playing. So be quick or you lose.
Cutscene

A non-interactive sequence within a game most often used for plot advancement.
Dash

A quick burst of speed that propels you slightly forward or backwards.
Drop-In Drop-Out

'Drop-in/Drop-out' is a style of co-op gameplay where extra players can join the 1st player seamlessly without having to quit the game or navigate any menus. Most games do allow them to leave the game in a similar manner.
Enemy Health Indicator

Frequently seen in RPGs and Fighting games, The EHI helps you calculate the current health of your opponent.
Enemy Tossing

When a game lets you grab enemies and throw them as projectiles. Commonly found in platformers, but also sometimes found in over-the-top 3rd person action games.
Evil Organization

An evil organization is a group of super-villans who are hell bent on world domination or something of a similar nature. Usually defeated by a single Spy/Superhero/Average Joe/small child.
Go Arrow

Commonly seen in side-scrolling brawlers, the go arrow is an indicator of which way to go, and usually an indicator that all of the enemies in an area have been defeated. Doesn't always need to have an arrow, just as long as it says "Go".
Hand to Hand Combat

Healing Food

More effective than any hospital. These games let you heal damage; ranging from a black eye to a gunshot wound, just by having a snack.
Health

Health is a value that gauges how much damage players can take in a game before they die or pass out. Also known as life in some games. Health is usually represented by a bar or a percentage instead of an exact amount. Found in most non sport games
High Score

In many games there is a ranking system, the players with the highest point value are listed in a "high score" table.
Uppercut

Easily emasculating the puny jab, this devastating technique is associated with crimson geysers and leveled Piston Hondas. Favored by undead ninjas and diminutive boxers alike.
Voice Acting

Voice Acting is the art of providing voices for characters in games, television shows, films, radio programs, and other forms of media.
