    Overview

An enemy health indicator is a UI or HUD element that gives players an accurate indication of the amount of damage that has been dealt to an enemy and how much health it has left. Games that feature this concept typically depict an enemy's health through a health meter that drains as the enemy is damaged. In RPGs, this also commonly takes the form of displayed numerical statistics that indicate the amount of damage an individual attack has inflicted.

Some games eschew this feature for standard enemy types and reserve it only for significant fights such as boss encounters. For others, all enemies may have their own health indicators.
