    Overview

Alien Front: Team Based Combat is a sci-fi modern-military tank combat game developed by Wow Entertainment and released by Sega for arcades (using Dreamcast-based Sega NAOMI hardware) exclusively in Japan on January 23, 2001.

Similar to the 1995 Namco arcade game Tokyo Wars, Alien Front focuses on arena-based four-on-four deathmatches between teams of two factions: the Alien invaders and Earth's Army defenders. Each faction has their own set of vehicles (from traditional tanks to bipedal/quadrupedal walkers) and unique power-up weaponry.

Intended to be played multiplayer, the game was only sold as a two-player deluxe cabinet and allows direct connectivity with up to three other cabinets at once (allowing support for eight-player matches).

It later received a Dreamcast port, titled Alien Front Online, exclusively in North America on August 9, 2001. It features online multiplayer (for up to eight players) and is bundled with the Dreamcast Microphone accessory for voice chat. It also features additional game modes (Fortress and Flag) and includes a single-player campaign mode (or "Tactics"). An arcade release, with cross-platform support, was planned for North America but was cancelled.

A mobile port of the game was in development for the N-Gage (simply titled Alien Front), but was cancelled prior to release.
