The region explored in the third generation of Pokémon. Hoenn was designed from the get-go to have 50% land and 50% water, a first for the series, in order to follow the story or Groudon and Kyogre.
This is the region Pokemon Colosseum and its sequel Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness take place in. It is a giant desert with a few green areas in the northern reaches of the zone.
Pokemon found here are from different regions. Limited Pokemon catching ability in the zone.
Sinnoh is the region in which players play in the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum games and is the setting of Pokemon anime seasons 10-13.
