Congrats, guys. I can tell Jeff is really psyched to hang out with his old spotter bros. Thanks for the video 'splainin stuff! I'm excited for the added resources that you guys may now have at your disposal. And I, for one, have no plans to discontinue my premium membership. So long as you PROMISE that Vinny and Jeff will do an Endurance Run of Persona 5 when it comes out. :D

Jeff seems really happy. I think everyone in the crew is. That's what matters. Happy cows, make delicious cheese.

John Davison is pretty awesome tho, glad to see he's kind of running things at Gamespot now, they could do a lot worse.

I quite enjoyed John Davison's time on OPM around the early PS2 era, those were good times. Davison, Gary Steinman, Joe Rybicki, Todd Zuniga, good times.

Glad he finally got to talk about it even though it was pretty obvious what had happened. Glad Gamespot isn't under that regime any more, but I was there mostly because of Jeff and the rest of the GB crew. I won't follow any other gaming site thanks to the wonderful thing they have created with Giant Bomb! Here's to hoping that they don't change too much!

Although it is super sad that the whole Whiskey suite won't be together anymore. No Big Live Live Show Live 3 or Happy Hour :(

I think people are missing a huge point here. If GS or CBS try anything funny to compromise the site, then there is no doubt in my mind that Jeff and the crew will leave AGAIN. They left GS with nothing but the clothes on their back. Now they have a huge fanbase and videogame companies backing them up. People KNOW who they are and what they do. If they had to leave GS (which I don't wish, just giving worse case scenario) they will leave and so will we.

No, Jeff definitely needed to address what happened back then. You said you really didn't follow the guys then, but quite a few of us did. There was so much speculation about what had happened, and many people stopped trusting GameSpot. At least some of those people might be more willing to be OK with this idea having heard it straight from Jeff.

I find this whole thing to be awesome but mo money mo problems.The thing that hurts the most is that front page of gamespot, 1/3 story 2/3 advertising. I can't see the story cause of something from the 70's called a "pot pie".

@nrh79: I think you nailed, I was a big GameSpot guy and really loved what Gerstmann and crew were doing, but when everything hit the fan I never really went back to GameSpot. Hearing this makes it a little easier to do so, however, I now just rely on GB for gaming fix.

I hope everything turns out well for everyone.

i would love to see a video tour of the new office like they did for when they moved before.

Strange days, my friend, strange days...

I was really down yesterday about the whole thing. After seeing how excited the crew is, I can't help but feel hopeful that everything is going to work out.

That said, if there's no live E3 bombcast from inside a house they found on craiglist, I'm going to be pissed.

I feel better about Gamespot now.

So, I would really be curious to know how many of us here would maybe start checking out gamespot more often now that we know the management team that fired Jeff is gone and we know that everything's in the past.

Nope, because those managers have been gone for a while and I try to stay current on what's happening. Your question's condition is 100% ideology which has absolutely nothing to do with the actual content being produced at GameSpot or the hosts presenting it.

I just keep an eye on the GS news feed. Their Youtube channel is ok, but I personally find their current on-air personalities as dry as toast. Here's the funniest thing I've seen them do recently. Note copious amounts of ye olde guarde Ryan-Mac and Homer.

@Raven_Sword: I actually tried watching a two hour feature on Starhawk on Gamespot. After about fifteen minutes I realized I wanted to watch the video in 720p because... Starhawk. Anyway, after I clicked the HD button (to their credit, they offered HD without a sub) it brought me back to the beginning of the video and I realized that Gamespot doesn't allow you to skip around in their videos (it buffers from the beginning on every refresh and the rate at which it buffers is how much you can skip forward). Left me thinking they needed some Snider up in that shit.

So, yeah. I tried. Once. Commentary was extremely boring and dry, too. Which was really weird considering Starhawk is at its best when absolute chaos is happening everywhere and the hosts voice and comments were so opposite to the action.

• Rorie is going to create a post once everything has died down, so that will answer quite a bit. His twitter makes it seem that he has no idea about the future, but he hopes to carry on working at Screened.
• What are the new offices like? They've been there a day. Let them settle in first.
• Why do you want a goodbye video? Anyway, it happened very quickly so I doubt that would be feasible.
• The guys get more money from this, as has been said many times. More crazy antics, better event coverage etc.
• The Vinny and Drew issue is not something that needs to be addressed immediately.
• Why did they do it? They have said that they needed business people to help them further advance.
• What do we get? A better website
• What do the GS guys get? What better incentive do you need than more money? Also, it has been mentioned that they will work together so coverage can be targeted to the correct audience.
• They have said that they are sad about the crew splitting up, but they will make efforts to see each other.

All of these questions seemed like things that just don't need to be addressed, will be addressed in due time or are the concern of a crazy man.

Sounds good. Nice to hear it all clarified. While I haven't liked Gamespot's site design for years, the reviews have usually been fine. Of course the exception during that period where Jeff was fired, seemed fishy even before that.

I hope Gamespot might learn a bit from the much cleaner and elegant layout of GB.
