Beyond Good & Evil 2 Development Troubled?

This is what happens when you post 50 news stories a day. The intern gets lazy and posts stories that have been confirmed by Ubisoft to be false and makes typos in the title and heading for gods sake. 

Not surprised to bad, it was to good to happen in the first place.

Breaks my heart, for sure. I loved the first one. One of the better games I've ever played. I see some peepz here are saying there might be coming something else good out of this. For my part, the only GOOD thing that could happen is if the sequel is released like originally planed. 

As much as I liked Beyond Good & Evil, I never expected a sequel. But if a sequel were to happen, so be it. I'm not heartbroken... either way. I played the game and liked it.

What do you mean, you "missed" BG&E? It's not that hard to find, and you can always get it on Steam. It's still just as good now. 
 
tbh if Ancel isn't involved in the sequel I don't have high hopes for it. :(

Even if they just remade the first one (like they did with the Butcher's Bay for PS3) it would have been a 100% definite buy! It's an amazing game in every sense of the word - I replay it about once a year.

Yea missed out on the first game too and I had some interest in the sequel.

Now, see, okay, this news story is bullshit. All it does is cite a glorified blog and a forum thread which itself references a google translation of a French website I have never heard of.
 
And now it turns out to have been false all along.
 
This is not a news story that should be posted on a respectable outlet like Giant Bomb.

For the people that haven't played it yet I have to say this. Buy it on Steam and play it. I bought it a few months ago and I LOVED IT! Playing a 2003 game in 2010 and I freaking loved it.

Well, with the site denying the rumors, this article's kind of useless now, other than its preview saying the lead developer may have left "the Ubisoft."

True or not, anything that puts Ubi in a negative light is great in my books. I hate that company on so many levels.

I don't know what to say, I would love to see a sequel? The first game was great had lots of great personality and story to it. The only complaint I had with the game was the mad hard steath evading missions it made you do.

You guys do realize that Brad is an editor for Destructoid right? And not some "intern" or random dude. He is pretty much just assisting in actually putting some news on this site compared to the maybe 1 article a week at best that used to come up.

Glad to hear it's false.  The guy leaving what is likely his only chance of ever getting the game released would be insane.
 
Looking forward to it reaching the market even though I never finished the first one.  The characters have a lot of true depth, and I recall the game actually pulling off emotionally tender scenes.  RARE in gaming.

Can you believe that I got the original Beyond Good and Evil for $25.00 brand new? It was awesome and I love the game. I still have it. It had some rough edges and it could of used more areas to explore. Still a lot of fun.
