Nintendo has confirmed that the DSi Shop, the online channel where you'll be able to purchase Nintendo Points and exchange them for DSiWare applications, will be available at the launch of the Nintendo DSi. In case you forgot, that launch is going down this Sunday, April 5.
But it wouldn't be much of a shop launch if you didn't have anything to buy. To that end, Nintendo will be releasing five games at launch:
- WarioWare: Snapped
- Bird & Beans
- Brain Age Express: Math
- Master of Illusion Express: Funny Face
- Art Style: AQUIA
WarioWare: Snapped is the star of the show, as far as I'm concerned. Nintendo brought this by our office a couple of weeks back and it got me all pumped about the DSi, much like every previous WarioWare game has gotten me pumped about whatever platform is running it. But that's not the only game with ties to WarioWare on the DSi store. Bird & Beans is actually Pyoro, the little arcade-like game that you could unlock in WarioWare.
The DSi web browser will also be available as a free download at launch.
Annoyingly, the only missing bit of info is the price for all of these apps, but it seems safe to assume that they'll go for the same price that they were released at in Japan. Art Style, for example, runs 500 points over there.
