Hitman Movie Sequel On the Way

Oh goddammit. Really? They're making another Hitman movie? Why are you doing this to me?

Apparently people the world over were entranced by the piercing stare and profound baldness of Timothy Olyphant's Agent 47 and his slutty Russian friend. IESB.net reports that the first Hitman movie grossed roughly 100 million dollars worldwide, a number that makes the stomach churn, though it also helps make sense of news that the producers of the original film are moving ahead with a sequel. Though no casting decisions have been revealed yet, they've signed hot young Hollywood screenwriter Kyle Ward to pen the script.

I'm not sure why Ward is considered such a hot commodity, considering his two meaningful credits are for another movie about a hitman that's being produced by Michael Bay's production company, and Kane & Lynch , both of which are still far from release. But hey, considering those credits, I guess Hitman is right in his wheelhouse, right? I can't say I'm thrilled about this news, though as I race towards the bottom of the barrel of video-game movies for TANG, I suppose there are far worse things than another Hitman movie. In potentially more positive news, IESB is also reporting that a fifth Hitman game is on its way with a release target of late 2010, and the promise that it "will take Agent 47 in a whole new direction." Until then, enjoy this Olyphant stare-off.

being the uninformed overreactive dirt that some of you are, although i loved the hitman movie, i am not in any way hurt or offended by most of the comments here,  because, sadly i'm used to the heavy critisism that this movie consistently receives . plus the fact i am not alone, thankyou, HitmanAgent47. Now i will start off by saying 47's "relationship" with Nika was was not based on love ("HITMAN DOES NOT HAVE A FUCKING LOVE INTREST!), if you had the presence of mind to rewatch the movie, you would see,  the reason he "liked" Nika, or, to be more precise, respected, and/or felt a sense of connection too, (which was similar to how the game series 47 felt about the priest in silent assassin) was because she, like 47 with the  barcode on his head, had a tattoo on her cheek. He could relate to her. and in the (overreactedly unnecessarily over-hyped) "sex" scene, 47 sedated nika as she tried to have sex with him, so you really do  not have very much backing on that to use it as a complaint against the movie, the "not very much" being because you could go to the extremes of saying he offered to undress her in the first place, or because he seemed "excited" during/after he had sedated the girl, i'm, sorry, agent 47 maybe ruthless, cold and professional, but he is a human, he was bread by humans, with human DNA, and is a human clone, and its not unnatural for a man to be aroused by a woman...being on him... but,  its how far you go, and how you deal with things in life, what i mean is, did 47 allow her to continue? (answer: NO) does he not have emotions? (answer: Yes he does!)...but, he doesn't let his emotion overrule him or affect his work. don't know for sure if anyone would use that as a point of complaint, but just incase i thought i would give some of my view to weaken it's strength

i have far more of which i could say to justify my positive feelings for the hitman movie, but there is only so much one can read, or post on these little chat threads.  just two more complaints i have come across that i will attempt to debunk.

1. "He didn't have his trademark w2000"  - really? pay close attention to the scene with agent smith and agent 47s discussion, particularly during 47s exit

2. "the hotel scene showed 47 getting angry" - ...okay, by angry you mean slamming his laptop and assertively stating: "answer me!", sounds very much like what the game 47 would do if he was set up, betrayed and about 5 minutes away from arrest or death.  and what makes a complaint like this further stupid is the fact that it only occured once in the movie, just as a similar incident occured in blood money? where he clearly was heard to say "bitch" , when Diana attacked him? somehow i don't think "answer me!" is less "47 like" as him saying "bitch". but who cares what he said? i certainly don't!  so? he said bitch, ONCE IN THE ENTIRE HITMAN SERIES,  so? he "got angry" ONCE in the hitman movie? sorry, this complaint is more pointless and pathetic than the person who gave it found the movie.

and, for the record, i am a fan of the games, AND, i was introduced to, and had played the games before the movie. was "Hitman" the greatest movie of all time? no, could it have had some fibrewire kills? a more compelling plot? yes! but that does not make what it was a bad movie in my opinion, and i firmly believe my rating of 8 out of 10 is well deserved. that is just my view, if you dislike the movie, thats your view and is fine.

if you'd like to have a civilized debate between you and me over evidence in the movie that supports your dislike toward it, then please contact me by email:   danielarthur015@hotmail.com
