LostWinds Coming to iOS, Which Is a Very Good Thing

iPhone and WiiWare two places I don't want to play games.

I played lost winds with my then girlfriend and it was a great experience.

These are fantastic Wiiware games, I'm glad to see them launch somewhere else. These games should be played!

I played 'em both on Wiiware. But I hate Wiiware (thanks mostly to Nintendo points). So it's about time these got ported to SOMETHING. I would've thought a Steam and PSN and XBLA would be the smarter choice, but whatever. 
 
I hope more worthwhile Wiiware games get ported to places gamers will actually play them. Both the Crystal Chronicles games, Shin'En's stuff (Jett Rocket, Art of Balance, and FAST Racing League), and stuff like Icarian/NyxQuest really need better exposure. Wiiware sucks. The wii is dead. Even Nintendo doesn't want to put games on it right now. And all their dumb*ss "blue ocean" fans are now happily playing the same kinds of dumb sh*t on their Kinect.

dam couldent play it last time coz i dont own a wii now i cant get it coz ive not got a iphone ... o well

I still need to give the sequel a buy. 
At first I didn't like the first game, it was so short. But now I appreciate it more.

Lost Winds was fantastic, but the controls really got in the way for me. Can't wait to give it a crack on the ipad. Should be the perfect control device for it. Nice!

I completely forgot about those games even though I played them. This brought back a lot of memories, it was a great series.
It's just unfortunate that Nintendo's system means they can't be longer games or look as nice as they could.

Whenever someone mentions Lostwinds I think of a totally different game. I'm obviously getting the names mixed up. I'm thinking of a DS game that was a strategy game where you would control wizards. You would draw shapes on the screen with the stylus to cast magic. I'm pretty sure it was called Lost-something. Everytime someone mentions Lostwinds I think "oh, that weird DS game about wizards" before realizing that it isn't.

They should bring it to PSN, so the Move people can play it. Oh yeah, and in HD. Very nice series.

Oh man, I'd love to see some new Lost Winds, both were legitimately good games, not just "Good for WiiWare" games.

Played the first one and enjoyed it quite a bit, and I can see the touch controls working extremely well with the wind mechanic.

I played the first game on WiiWare (didn't even know there was a sequel!), and it was a lot of fun; I'm glad it's coming to some more pervasive digital platforms.

Looks nice- kind of makes me think someone should port Aquaria to iPad too ;) I think it'd work well.

I won't hold it against you if you haven't played Frontier Development's excellent LostWinds series--it was released on WiiWare, after all. I've been waiting for Frontier Development to bring LostWinds elsewhere, and according to Eurogamer, that's happening on the iPhone and iPad.

It looks like both LostWinds and LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias are coming to start off, with the potential for additional installments down the line. Whatever gets me more LostWinds, I'm game.

It also appears the games will be coming to Android, as well.

The original LostWinds was one of the first great games released for Nintendo's underappreciated service. On the Wii, the remote manipulated the wind and propelled objects and your character around the environment, leading to some clever puzzles.

The official announcement hasn't come down the pike yet, so while using our minds to imagine how the motion controls translate to touch (it's pretty easy to figure out, actually), we'll have to wait for Frontier Development to release details.
