I've been with Giantbomb since the beginning and it will never be the same without Ryan Davis.......I'll miss you greatly....condolences to his family and the Giantbomb crew

I am at a loss for words. I tried writing something several times, only to delete it. Things I could write later, perhaps. I can only say that I didn't believe this, even after coming to GB and seeing it posted. Thought it was some disturbed type of humor.

Realizing this is real, I'm actually bawling, over here. Ryan was part of my every day life for the last half dozen years. I looked forward to his acerbic nature, humor, and hard work. He was truly one of my favorite people that I've never met.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. I don't know how everyone will find the strength to carry on around here and I don't know what I could possibly do to help. He obviously will never be forgotten. He can't be replaced, either.

I just . . . how do you carry on about video games, after this?

I wish there was some sort of Twitch stream or Jar-Time or something going on right now. I need to hear other people talk about this... commiserate.

If someone does something for GB or Ryan's family or something, please let us know so we can contribute. It feels like there is some gesture we could offer or some real help we could offer... but... I can't imagine what that is.

I don't even know how to end this.

Ryan's been a voice in my earbuds for almost a decade. Like others have said, we've never met, but I've felt more respect and admiration for these guys than just about anyone else. Ryan and the others have been a huge influence on my life and god damn it, I'm going to miss him. Rest in peace.

Wow, this is some unexpected and terrible news this Monday morning. I always found segments with Ryan entertaining. Without him, It will never be the same. Well, I will keep Ryan, his family, and friends in my prayers and I wish them the best during this difficult time.

I've listened to his podcast and followed his career with GiantBomb for so long that I feel like I've just lost a real friend. He will be missed for his kindness and humor and hours of entertainment he has brought to my life. Condolences to his friends and family. You will truly be missed Ryan Davis.

I cant even get my head around this, he was a part of all of our lives and it will never be the same without him. I can only imagine how awful this is for his close friends and family, my thoughts are with them.

Mat really puts it best, but I'll chime in: the guy was one of the biggest shit-kickers you could ever hope to meet, but the way he riffed, you couldn't help but laugh with him. Never hesitated to speak his mind or push this website to be better than it was or could be, and I have never seen anyone work harder at looking like he wasn't working hard.

Ryan Davis, you will be missed.

Never has an industry death hit me anywhere near as hard as this one. I have followed Ryan throughout his career at Gamespot, and since the very beginning of Giant Bomb. You guys are a part of my day-to-day life, putting a smile on my face and making me laugh until I lose my breath. I didn't know Ryan personally, but I will be forever grateful for the time he spent on this earth and the moments he shared with all of us. Giant Bomb will never be the same without you.

My thoughts are with Ryan's wife, family, friends, and his passionate fans. You will be missed more than you could ever imagine.

I am shocked. Ryan was a part of my life for a long time and I will miss him. I will be ruminating on this for a long time to come and my thoughts are with Mr. Davis' family and friends. We all love Ryan.

Damn. Somebody posted this on GameFAQs and I was hoping that it was a joke about marriage. Then I saw the twitter feeds. Now it's an hour later and nobody's laughing. There's no punchline. There's just a whole lot of sadness.

Giant Bomb will never be quite as fun with Ryan Davis gone.
