So I Heard You Wanted A Nintendo Downloads Podcast...

OK. Let's do it.

If you've been following along on the Giant Bombcast, then you know that the rest of those jerks made a command decision to totally cut the WiiWare and DSiWare portions of the program. This is the same portion that was nominated for an award last year. Last time I checked, "Vinny saying curse words' didn't get nominated for jack nothing! "Brad spoiling games?" Nada! Zip! And don't even get me started on the "Ryan mispronouncing game names" portion of the show.

But I'm not going to complain. I'm going to do something about it. And so, it's my great pleasure to introduce you to the rogue operation I've spent upwards of 35 minutes putting together:

I agree with some of the others. This was great, but it seemed odd to not have the music underscoring the insanity... as if a part of the craziness itself wasn't there.

I've made a more authentic version of this with the music included and I got the volume levels pretty much dead on with how it would usually sound. It sounds weird without the guys laughing in the background but anyways, Download link here:

I heard it without the music and it did seem lacking. I just heard it again and played the video and it sounded all good.

I agree, but the sadness is part of what makes this funny. Also, next time he said he'd have a guest, and I would love if he just grabbed random Whiskey staff and forced them to listen to them. The potential for awkward uncomfortable comedy is through the roof!

To a large extent, what really made the Nintendo Releases readings so funny was the reaction with the other three bombsquad members. Indeed! Without the wiiware and dsiware, the GBcast loses a TON of its humor. Sure its funny in the beginning and sometimes, at the end, there are funny emails (now there's a section that ought to be looked at for removal...) but the middle part is usually that run of the mill, boring as fuck, game industry chatter I can get from any one of a thousand gaming podcasts. I love Giant Bomb (and Whiskey Media in general) because its funny . NOT because it's informative.

TBH, I'd MUCH rather listen to this (as sad as it is compared to when it was part of the GBcast) than whatever the fuck they talk about between the introductions and e-mails in the regular podcast.

Thanks Jeff! I was so sad listening to it today. I thought for sure it would be in there today. But those jerks killed it. I can lose the starcraft talk, but the DS announcements are the best part of the show.
