Sony (Europe) to Offer Select PS3, PSP Games When PSN's Back Online

Regardless of whether or not I have the games offered at least they are giving us an option. When Xbox live went down for a couple of days the gave away one POS game, Undertow, and that was it.

I'll be impressed if they offer something like Peace Walker.

I've just realised I have a NA account, but have no idea what the login information is.

I bought my PS3 last week, and the day I got it the network was down, so I haven't been able to sign up yet! obviously I'm grateful I didn't get my numbers hacked off me by some internet dude, but I wonder if I will be entitled to free stuff as a brand new PSN customer? The blog doesn't say in this article, have to wait and see.

i only have 3 PS3 games, 1 of which is multiplatform

My guess is that it will be a bunch of dual joystick shooters.

I either probbaly already have the games or do not want them.

Y'know that sounds like a pretty decent offer but as a Canadian (not a very coveted retail region, but sometimes lucky enough to get lumped into the more coveted US market) I'll wait to see wait I'm offered before I accept their apology.

Depending on the games, this could be really good.

Are they giving away two games or four games?

I have a feeling these will be games I already own or have no interest in but Wipeout Fury or something similar would be cool.

Free games? seems like good compensation. Though it depends on what games they are.

I'd accept a copy of Patapon 1, 2 or 3. Those ('cept probably 3) seem within the boundary of what they would offer too.

The free identity theft protection--at least in theory--sounds pretty good.  But that's just them covering their asses of course.  I'm just glad they're finally starting to come out about how they're addressing the financial side for customers.  And no, their first announcement of a month of free PSN isn't doing that.  Sitting in limbo is/was a freaking hassle.

4 free Sony games - Hmm could be good but well could be crap. Its hardly going to be Patapon 3 is it as that is not long out. Anyway here is hoping when it does come back online it's at least kinda good games :D

ok now that my random outburst is over  that i actualy dont know where it came from, i would like to remind people even those who are already happy with this  that we are given 30 days of psn+ wich is getting free games anyway so in adition to the 2 ps3 and 2 psp games we will get access to DLC , arcade games and discounts so good job sony

This would be awesome for me seeing as how i own a ps3 but only 1 game.

Sounds good, lets hope the games on offer are decent. I also picked up a PSN card for 20 quid today for a few of the Final Fantasy games on the store.

All I can say is that in a perfect world, I hope that we here in the states with uk accounts can get in on this.   I am just Hoping that they don't go security crazy and block our access overseas in the long run.

Will this get me to update my PS3 for the first time in a year? Depends how sweet the deal is.
