Thursday Night Throwdown 09/16: Halo: Reach

Get Noble with Giant Bomb on this week's community game night!

After being preempted by the Whiskey Media Big Live Live Show, Live! last week, Thursday Night Throwdown returns with the thunderous crack of a Brute's gravity hammer with none other than Halo: Reach! I don't know how familiar you dudes are with video games, but it's my understanding that the Halo series is pretty well-known for its multiplayer, and Halo: Reach may just feature the most robust multiplayer in a Halo game yet, something we'll try and take full advantage of starting at 4PM Pacific Daylight Time this Thursday!
 
If you want to get in on the action, simply send a friend request to GBTNT on Xbox Live. Also, as select members of the Giant Bomb community are already aware, we've been crowdsourcing our TNT promos, which is another way of saying that we make you do the work! If you want to get in on the Photoshop phun, check out this thread to find out how you can contribute. Please make sure to read the first post in the thread for guidelines.

Wow, the improved production values post-BLLSL REALLY help. I'm not talking about the silliness the new equipment allowed (although that was nice), I mean the smooth transitions and compositing of the game feed with the couch. And the couch! Two HD cameras, great lighting, clean sound... I gotta say, the couch on the early episodes of TNT was ROUGH.  
 
It almost makes me want to play Halo. Then I remember its Halo, and I hate multiplayer.  
 
My only issue: the Justine.tv stream's bitrate is TOO high for my home connection. I guess I have to upgrade, I can't get the HD streams from Giant Bomb in real time either.

@JoeRiccadonna:  http://www.justin.tv/giantbomb there is a list of recent streams listed. actually, all the past streams are listed, even though they are supposed to expire in 7 days, maybe Giant Bomb has some pull with Justin.tv?

@JoeRiccadonna: Their justin.tv account should have archived versions of all the TNT's they've done (well, minus the stuff they did over uStream.)  
 
I wish giantbomb would record a version that could be viewed on their site. I know it's possible to record videos while streaming but I also know it's technically difficult/demanding.

@Popogeejo: But they DID record this stream with their fancy new equipment, Vinny was dropping in edited video moments after it happened, I think its more a matter of redundancy.  
 
However, I DO agree with you because the version of Justin.tv for the iPhone that I have (current?) only supports live streams, not archives, and certainly not downloads. I am on a bus for over 2 hours a day, so a downloadable version would be PERFECT (instead I am watching this after the wife and kids are asleep, armed with a little JB).

Holy fucking crap. I know you guys are charmingly garrulous and all that, but I want to watch the game being played, not the face of the person playing it. Watching people's faces as they play games... is less than ideal. Watching the game is ideal. It got pretty annoying to me.

Drew redeeemed himself after his Halo 2 shenanigans during Xboxcalypse . That Blood Gulch remake map match in the live stream is making me reconsider getting this - always epic when both teams start by charging in the middle with vehicles (~0:15:00 time stamp) and would be funny if one side decided to use holograms all at once. Vinny is a wizard.

Good lord, the archive is ridiculously laggy, to the point of being unwatchable, even though I waited for it to be completely loaded up. I'm downloading it now; hopefully it won't be horribly choppy.
