That was completely unrelated to what the other guy was claiming. Now how about you stop ignoring that video and tell us why this game is identical to Smash Bros so we can move on. Grow some balls and admit you are wrong.

It's just dumb they haven't mentioned Ratchet and Clank and Sackboy earlier. Build up for the most OBVIOUS character is a horrible waste of time.

Was never a fan of smash brothers and after the demo at e3 I can't say I have any interest in this game. Not to mention the character list is meh.

Give me Vibri or give me death, Sony! It's not like you're ever going to do much else with her.

Smash Brothers works because of all the crazy fucking charecters nintendo has come up with over the years.. Ratchet, Cole, and sackboy are cool... But where do they go from here? Dr. Nefarious and Sully? They need more original charectors over at sony for this to make sense for me!

I love the inclusion of Spike/Kakeru, and I think the inclusion of Nariko, Raiden, New Dante and Sir Daniel Fortesque are pretty apt and neat. If these were to be all the characters though then there are a few unfortunate omissions from my personal wishlist. Also no Final Fantasy character would be weird.

was just thinking about MediEvil the other day, what ever happened with that franchise?

Spike and Fortesque are awesome. A couple of those "Hey I remember them" characters this game really needed. 
 
Ninja Theory Dante took a lot of balls, neither for or against him. 

So, odds on if skeleton dude from MediEvil in this game is going to inspire a huge spike of interest in a dumb franchise the way the inclusion of the Ice Climbers did in Melee and Pit did in Brawl?

I'm not impressed with the roster. I don't associate Ninja Theory's Dante or the Big Daddy with Sony, so I'm curious what the thought process on including them was like, other than to help build hype for their upcoming games.

Just because of Sir Daniel Fortesque I might buy this game. I really wish they would make a new Medievil game with up to date graphics and controls plus a completely new orchestral score.

Unfortunately this might be the closest we ever get to a new Medievil game. :(

GameSpot also contacted Sony, who had no comment on the authenticity of the files. They are, however, totally authentic.

Would you say these files are more or less authentic than Kid Rock?

I didn't remember that the skeleton from MediEvil had a name, but that's probably the most exciting addtion. The addtion of Sackboy and Ratchet makes sense as well. As for the others, they're just random dudes who I can't see the significance in being added to a smash bros style game. And still no Crash. They really gave up on the whole "Crash is our front figure!" stuff didn't they. PS: Parappa is clearly (still) top tier.

This game´s art direction and execution doesn't even come close to the feeling that SSB provides. In those games it felt like every character was fitting super well, despite them being from different games. The dev team is just really fantastic at creating that Art Style where everything just fits wonderfully.

From the footage of ASBR they just don't seem to get up to the same quality in that regard. Sure they added cool and fun stages reminiscent of a lot Playstation games, and sure they try to unify the characters appearances etc. But it just doesn't look good and/or fitting.

edit: Oh and visibility also seems to be superior in the SSB games.

Both MediEvil games were excellent and Fortesque is one of the very few interesting additions here. If this leads to a MediEvil 3, then at least something good will have come from this.

Lightning is allegedly a secret character.

So that's approximately 24% PS era, 28% PS2 era and 48% current gen.

I really wish they had leaned more toward nostalgia. It's supposed to be all-stars, right? Not newcomers & multi-platform swingers.

I say that the stages are locked down but think there will be more characters than what is listed here

They own The Legend of Dragoon, no? I wouldn't mind seeing a Dragoon up in there. They should keep the audio from the original game and make them say the name of their attacks. :p

What a fun roster - something you gotta recognize even though I won't be getting this game.

Dante is certainly because Capcom wants the focus to be on the new game, similarly to how new Freddy was in Mortal Kombat. I expect SquareEnix wouldn't have wanted old Lara Croft in the game either, and the new one seems to be heavily moneyhatted by Microsoft.

its a cool list of dudes, but i just don't think i care about this game...

I thought we were past the era of "Americanizing" Japanese looking characters. I'm all in for Spike being the Ape Escape representation, but my oh my does he look terribly ugly. He looks like a bad Yu-Gi-Oh cosplayer.

I hope they offer a sweet bundle for people getting both the Ps3 and PsV versions. I still have my fingers crossed for crash making the cut.

I think this game looks awesome fun. Don't care that it's a Smash Brother clone, Crash Team Racing is a Mario Kart clone and that game was awesome.
