Vita (First Party) Lineup Announced (for Europe), More Games Revealed

It’s hard to believe Sony is just weeks away from launching its next-generation portable in Japan, and only months before the same thing happens everywhere else.

More details about Vita's initial offerings are coming out, including what we’ll be playing day one. The European branch of the PlayStation Blog has announced its launch lineup, and I’m waiting for word that we can expect something similar over here.

• Everybody’s Golf
• Escape Plan
• Gravity Rush
• Hustle Kings
• MotorStorm RC

Sony also announced two new first-party games, Unit 13 and MotorStorm RC, the latter available on both PlayStation 3 and Vita. The coolest hook for MotorStorm RC is that if you purchase the Vita version, you gain access to the PS3 version--and vice versa. Such a stance is commendable, and let’s hope that’s the gold standard for Sony’s games going forward!

It was also revealed that Flickr will be built-in to Vita, alongside Twitter, Facebook and FourSquare.

Vita launches in Japan on December 17, and February 22 almost everywhere else.

I have both the Vita and Uncharted preordered. I'm too busy playing awesome games right now to think that far into the future, though!

All I know is Persona 4: The Golden is coming out for Vita. So I'll be playing through that as soon as it's out in Japan.

Gravity Daze looks amazing. Defiantly picking that up at launch.

Gravity Rush/Daze looks pretty cool.

I got excited for an ape escape game when I read Escape Plan :(

It's 99% guaranteed that they will be $39.99 in North America from what retailers have said and details emerging from Sony. Don't look at Japanese prices for comparison, there is no standard price there so games that publishers know carry weight, like Final Fantasy, are priced at like $80.

Buy the same games again for a smaller screen.

Bored, bored, bored. Not a single game to interest me at all. Just for the defenders, there wasn't a game on the 3DS launch that interested me either. I will wait for games that interest and a decent price reduction ...... in about 12 months after launch.

No Persona 4: The Golden at launch equals no sale. Thank you and good day, Sony.

That is a lot of games to promise for launch... Knowing Sony they might pull it off. I wonder how hot that puppy is going to get.. as much as I want it to succeed, I have a sinking feeling that it will be plagued with numerous issues on launch.

I hope to have enough cash to pre-order the Vita next pay check. Uncharted is a guaranteed purchase for me. I may pick up an additional game, but it depends on memory card cost and whether I get a case or not. I haven't had a handheld since the GBA SP. I'm excited to get one again now that I have lots of opportunity for one. I commute back and forth to work on the bus, which is a 50-minute ride one direction. I also have 1.5 - 2 hours every week when I take my daughter to her sport.

Looks alright. Especially since they had me at "Super Stardust".

I agree it looks better than 3ds launch lineup, but that's irrelevant. Will it look better than 3ds game lineup by feb 22 though, most likely not.

Uncharted and Wipeout are the gems. I fear uncharted (if no mp here, haven't heard anything that confirms it), will be like the GoW psp titles. Short, pretty, polished. Wipeout will be great no doubt, but is it enough to sell another portable, when the psp wipeouts still look and play great? I guess online mp will be a good incentive, but mp working right out of the bat for a new system? Doesn't seem likely, especially for sony.

I want a smaller PS handheld that just has Lumines on it, better still I'd by it from the android market place.

I am really interested to see how Gravity Rush turns out. I'll probably buy this on launch no matter what though. >.>

Much better than the 3DS's initial crop. Hope they can keep it up after that.

I'm more excited for Gravity Rush than any of those games. Call me when they have more original IP's like that. Also some JRPGs that aren't Persona 4 Golden!

I really want to play seven of those games. That's almost unheard of for me for a launch lineup. Color me excited!

This, i don't think i have ever wanted to play so many launch games.

And as much shit as PSP gets i love my PSP, hopefully companies like atlus/x-seed etc. pump out some good "niche" games for the vita, i still play trails, ys etc. on my psp.

Escape Plan, Uncharted and Wipeout are all games I would play. This line up is far better than the 3DS one. I still only have 2 remakes and 2 actually good games.

Unless the 3DS picks up real soon, I might actually use my vita more. Who knows. I really hope sound shapes is a launch title as well, that would be okay with me.

Right now I have the Vita preordered along with Uncharted and Modnation Racers. I'm hoping I'll have enough cash to pick them up; it's things like Motorstorm RC's cross-platform connectivity that have me optimistic for the Vita's future.

I can't wait for a quick look of Reality fighters :D

Don't take me wrong on this one guys, I think those two games are awesome but... I would like more options you know. Maybe I'm not in the mood for Uncharted right now since I just finished Drakes Fortune but I would have loved to see more big names thrown in there to actually make me buy a Vita.

I'll buy one of these when Persona 4 or DJ Max Technika come out for it. I hope as many JRPGs come out for the Vita as they did for the PSP.

Sony are pretty good on the hardware side of things, its will probably be the UI (which looks atrocious but hopefully will function as well as the XMB did on the PSP) and PSN that will give problems.

So does it use UMDs or what?

I'll buy the Vita when Uncharted, Persona 4 the Golden, and SWERY's new title are out in North America. Till then, I'm out. (I'd take a third, more interesting title to replace any one of those three, to be honest, but I have an unhealthy devotion to the three of those, so I'll play what they put out.)

No real games i care to much about but then i have never played an uncharted game so im proberly missing out.

I like that the only two games worth it at launch are at the top of the list. Really disappointing but in a way good as it seems like a pretty fresh line up. Obviously as soon as actual info about some of the lesser games gets out there who knows? They could be awesome but no doubt awful.

I will buy a Vita the day Persona 4 comes out.

Guys, this is only the first party launch lineup. There are already more launch games coming from 3rd parties.

Would be awesome if Sony's gold standard was getting one version of the game and getting the other for free. Transfarring platforms

Nice Lineup, a little something for everyone. The best news was that of the cross platforming and not having to pay twice for a game. If everyone adopts this or only having to pay the equivalent price difference for the PS3 version since it will probably be a little more expensive that would be awesome!!!!
