    Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Game » consists of 16 releases. Released Nov 15, 2011

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the fourth installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise and the final entry in Ezio Auditore's main storyline. A few levels also put players back in control of the original Assassin's Creed's Altair, and depict his rise to the Mentorship of the Crusades-era Brotherhood of Assassins.

Have they explained why there is multiplayer in the fiction?

I liked that in Brotherhood they explained that the multiplayer was Abstergo's training programme and I just assumed that was going to be the case again in Revelations. Thing is in the multiplayer kill trailer there is an Assassin looking guy and that just brought some doubts to that idea.

The trailer for those who haven't seen it.

Does multiplayer ever really need to be explained in the fiction of any game?

In Brotherhood they explained that some people used to be assassins and became templars which is why they look and fight like them.

    And yay dubstep.

I actually hope that multiplayer goes the way of telling a story. I like that this one and killzone 3 and some others are trying to tell a story in their multiplayer.

I think it's the same set up though, Templars training to kill Assassins.

@CitizenKane: No, but it is such a rarity outside of "because it's war" that when games like Assassin's Creed or Bioshock do try to justify their multiplayer it makes me a little less cold hearted.

The "assassin looking guy" is just a regular templar. You are still all templars training in assassin techniques. If you need further explanation, there's some legit Assassins that have gone Templar (one being a character in the MP but not the one you are thinking) thus coupled with centuries of research they know their techniques.

Every character in multiplayer is a Templar Ezio dealt with in game, and has a biography.

The "assassin looking guy" was an assassin traitor that became a Templar.

Multiplayer is still the Templar training program, as you level up you unlock information and videos about Abstergo and it's history.
