Overview
Bang Bead is a versus block-breaking game developed and released by Visco for arcades (using Neo Geo MVS hardware) in 2000.
The sequel to the 1998 game Battle Flip Shot, Bang Bead updates the original game's gameplay by having players repel the Bead manually (rather than having the character carry a shield that does it automatically) at a chosen direction. It also revamps the controls, with the special attacks (now called Miracle Attacks and requires a filled gauge) now designated to the C button. In addition, players now win rounds by having the ball reach the opponent's end of the screen (which is now guarded by a shield that only breaks once all of the opponent's blocks are broken).
Gameplay
Two of nine characters square off in a back and forth 2D tennis match. The speed and arc of the Bead was affected by reaction time from throw to catch and motions of the joystick, with quarter circle movements.
